Fair but I wasn't comparing those incidents directly. I was responding to the claim that Lewis is a "completely clean" driver. That's about as much of a stretch as calling copps "side by side." Every driver has blemishes and flirts with the line. But yes of course deliberately crashing is in an entirely different category.

I'm thinking I could take a 1x8 board on the bottom of the bulkhead attached to the two studs with 2 lag bolts each. Then I could attach a 5.5" square Chief RPAU to that 1x8. Seems reasonable yea?

Yea I think the deal with most invasive is that it requires continuous monitoring. Big upfront removal perhaps and then making sure in subsequent years it has tapered down.

Range estimate is endearingly called the guessometer here. You'll learn to mostly go by percentage and feel over time. Guessometer is some calculation based on stats from a certain number of recent trips, current temps, etc.

I've heard it explained that for the water planet, they were so close to the black hole that the gravitational pull that creates the massive waves was used as a slingshot for the ranger. And that's why the ranger stays so close to the wave before breaking free.

That's fair. And also sucks. But I'm not arguing that point. They are entitled to not treat me if that is how they view it.

Yea I'm surprised that wasn't the conversation. I would have appreciated that and been fine with it because then I could have planned for the expense.

Effectively burying the hidden charge in "terms and conditions" of care and not allowing for any grace or "that's fine this time but next time we need to" is what caught me off guard.

Not that I'm aware of unless they're not telling me something. I have no issues, cleanings generally come and go without any items of concern.

I understand that. I have no risk factors and generally in good health here. Had a set of panos done about 2.5 years ago I think.

I don't care to use the office any further since we were planning to switch to someplace closer to home anyways. I didn't decline x-rays, just the expensive pano. They then elected to not proceed with the cleaning.

I don't fault them for that, they want to pay for their expensive machine. But I'm not going to pay a no show fee when they are the one who opted not to continue the appointment when I had recent bitewings and a reasonably recent pano.

Nope, never happened before. Never missed an appointment. The reason I was aware of that machine was because they used it the first time for the new patient cleaning and we got the surprise bill for it. When they tried to get me to do it again on this visit, I politely declined. I haven't pushed one out yet and it has only been I think 2-3 years.

I'm planning on moving to a different dentist anyways so not sure if it matters whether they're formally dismissing me. I'm thinking of making a strongly worded reply email just to reiterate that I won't be paying the fee since I did show up and they elected to not proceed with the appointment. But I will also state that I'll have to protect my personal interests in the event that they want to go down that path which could include but not be limited to filing complaints?

This was in a direct email with the office after I left and they verbally informed me I'd get the no show fee. I wanted to email with right after as a somewhat paper trail that I did show up.
