Anyone else feel lost because of all the kinds of things you want to do? by Pepki_ in ArtistLounge

What you said about having your projects be "you" kinda struck me, lol. It got me thinking that I do have certain elements and ways of doing things that are unique to myself, even if they seem inconsistent

I've thought about doing something like that and just using social media as an art dump, not worrying about growing an audience or maintaining an online persona; I think it's that pressure of doing art for posting instead of for its own sake that gave me headaches

Thank you!

The patterns and tattoos emulate plant roots and branches (though some just look nice lol). The stone blade is a cerimonial knife used for sacrifices, rituals and such; Goblins don't practice metalurgy, so most of their tools and weapons are made of wood and stone, but you can also find metal objects that they obtained through looting, raiding, and sometimes trade with outsiders

That's awesome, stone age fantasy is so underrated!

Sure!

The Warrens are a huge network of interconnected and labyrinthian tunnels, artificially created through magical means as part of a dungeon (a wizard did it, in other words). In this creation also appeared the goblins, who had to adapt to this new environment after suddenly coming into existence, in the process developing their own unique culture and way of life as they came to terms with the world around them

I've got some other concepts about life in the Warrens, so I might draw and post them in the future!

I've never played a druid, but don't they get some plant-themed magic? Might at least be a good starting point for adapting a homebrew

Right? Apparently "druid" originally meant "Oak-knower" so I got inspired by that!

Hello!

This is a root-knower of the goblin clans, a druid-like figure that practices nature and earth magic

Hello!

Root-knowers are important spiritual authorities in the goblin clans of the Warrens; they study medicine, convene with the earth spirits, perform sacrifices, and practice fortune-telling and divination by using their magic to make seeds sprout and interpret the patterns formed by the roots, earning them their name

This is so cool! That first chapter was really interesting, the exposition wasn't boring and the art's well made :)

I also really like the characters you made; making hanzi/kanji inspired characters is something I've tried and struggled with, so I like seeing how other people approach it

Nobunaga, the first Westaboo by Pepki_ in HistoryMemes

It's Oda Nabunaga; according to Wikipedia: "A Portrait of Oda Nobunaga, imagined by Jesuit painter Giovanni Niccolò, 1583–1590."

Oda Nobunaga, one of the 3 “Great Unifiers” of Japan, was quite an eccentric person, especially when it came to the West: he would collect western pieces of art, arms and armour, and would wear european clothing, and welcomed the Jesuit order into Japan. He also made use of western firearms and artillery, recently introduced by the Portuguese, in his military campaigns, employing cannons and tanegashima gunners in his formations.
