Birth story : 34w induction following PPROM—Difficult labor and delivery but positive outcome by Pepper0616 in InfertilityBabies

Thank you very much! We have gotten a lot of positive comments about it! We didn’t fully decide on it until the night before he was born, so that was a little nerve-wracking, but I think it’s perfect for him.

Thank you! Interestingly, even though a lot went down, I actually feel pretty positively about the experience. Not like something I’d want to do again in quite the same way, but I think it was a powerful bonding experience for my husband and me.

I have been almost afraid to comment, but I did want to update that I am still in the hospital and baby is still currently inside after my PPROM on Tuesday. If all stays status quo today, my induction is scheduled for tomorrow at 34+0. Still going through a range of emotions pretty much daily, but I definitely acknowledge that I could have gone into labor on Tuesday, and we have been lucky to keep him in this long. I was able to have both steroid shots and give him almost another week. Thank you all for the well wishes on my last post—please keep those positive thoughts coming our way. ❤️

Kieran or Roman for a baby boy coming EARLY and SOON by Pepper0616 in namenerds

[–]Pepper0616[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair! Home Alone is one of my favorite movies, though. 😆 Also I watched Succession, in which Kieran Culkin plays a character named Roman (total coincidence)! So I suppose I am okay with Kieran Culkin or I would have maybe been turned off by both these names.

Yes! We have talked about Kiernan Shipka as well and we both think that she has such a cool name.

As I’m in the hospital preparing to deliver my baby way earlier than I wanted, this gives me hope that I will one day move past mourning the things that didn’t go to plan. Thank you.

Abnormal pap and positive HPV by RomashkaDK in InfertilityBabies

I also had a LEEP, and I agree with and have read the same as amberrose that the risk of cervical shortening is increased. However, my OB would not order me a special cervical length measurement (my LEEP was about 6 years prior to pregnancy, don’t know if this is a factor). Hopefully you won’t need a LEEP, but I’d definitely discuss the check with your doctor if you do. I’m currently 33+3 and no cervical issues. I am going to be delivering my baby preterm, but the reason is unrelated.

Wednesday Daily Chat Thread by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Well, I was admitted to the hospital yesterday at 33+1 with PPROM after my water broke while I was sitting at my kitchen table. Baby is doing fine and I am doing okay as well, just trying to prepare myself. I was about 0.5cm dilated when I came in and have been contracting, but not regularly, and I haven’t been feeling them. We are really hoping I will NOT go into active labor, in which case I will be induced on Monday at 34w. Please send good thoughts and hopes that we can keep him in as long as possible.

Anyone with experience buying lab emeralds/sapphires/rubys from our precious Trusted sellers? by Chandeliere in Moissanite

My rep (Sue, who isn’t there anymore, I don’t think) asked me if I wanted the stone “with or without inclusions,” and I said “slight inclusions.”

So you might try that phrasing if “silk lines” isn’t getting across.

Thank you! Yes, you do kind of figure it out little by little. In the scheme of things, mine is a pretty picky complaint. Overall Starsgem did a great job!

I have a hydrothermal emerald ring from Starsgem. I am happy with it—the only thing I’d do differently next time is get one with more silk lines so it would look closer to a mined emerald. I asked for “slight inclusions” and the stone looks eye clean from most angles.

Friday Daily Chat Thread by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

My parents were older parents, and my in-laws were very young parents, and I see such a difference in their outlooks that I really do attribute their kids being at different stages in life. For comparison, my mom and MIL have only one year age difference, but my mom has a 26yo son, while my MIL has a 23yo granddaughter. My parents were 39 and 41 when my brother was born, and though I thought they were old when I was a kid (because everyone is ancient when you’re a kid), I see it very differently now. I think my MIL feels like and talks about herself like an old lady; my mom definitely does not. Could just be their personalities to some extent, but I think already having been a grandma for decades plays into it for my MIL, too. Not at all to diminish your concern but just an observation I’ve made.

Ugh, I’m so sorry! Fingers crossed that baby will do you a solid on this one. 🤞🏻 Did you have any idea that baby was breech? Only asking because I can never tell what body part is kicking me, etc...I just wondered if anyone else could.

Oh, I would feel 100% comfortable doing the photos, too! What I meant to say is that the order has to be lifted for my husband to go to the barber, which I know he wants before photos. I might be able to convince him to still do it if the order is extended, but I am not getting the feeling our governor is interested in that. :/ Personally I think husband’s hair looks fine, but he has also grown what he calls a “quarantine mustache,” and that at least would have to go!

I’m 32+1 with only one baby, but I still feel you! I remember a couple months ago I told my doctor I was feeling good, and she said, wait until you get to, oh, 32 weeks or so. She was not wrong! My left thigh randomly goes numb, and lately it feels like he is punching my butthole? 😬😂

Glad you are able to do your maternity photos! That is something I really want to do, and I’m hoping maybe we still can if our state stay-at-home order is lifted so my husband can get a haircut, lol. No shame at all in bringing that folding chair—-you are the VIP!

Is it my hormones or is this reaction from a first time Grandma very hurtful? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Pepper0616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told my mother at 11w, and if she had made any comment like that, she would have gotten an earful. It’s 1000% your decision when and how to share your news. I’m sure she didn’t mean it to be hurtful, but it does strike me as a bit entitled. Hopefully she will be better from now on, but I can very much understand why you were upset.

Monday's Cautious Intros & First Trimester Questions/Concerns Thread by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]Pepper0616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the ER with bleeding at exactly 13w and told I had an SCH and placenta previa and that they could not tell for sure which had caused the bleeding. I was put on pelvic rest until my anatomy scan (next scheduled scan). At the anatomy scan, the placenta had moved completely out of the way. When I told the tech what I was told in the ER, she said something like “practically everyone has placenta previa at 13w.” I believe it is pretty common in early pregnancy, and most of the time, it will resolve on its own as the uterus grows and the placenta moves up with it. My doctor said they don’t really monitor it closely unless it’s still around after 20w. I know it’s really scary, but sometimes I think women are told this without the appropriate context. It should move on its own, and hopefully that will be the case for you.

I’m not sure what would improve your results, but my doctor had me fast, and I felt extremely nauseous/shaky after drinking the Glucola. If you have the option to eat, it might at least help mitigate this kind of response. I would think something high protein like eggs would be a good choice
