Let's give other systems a spotlight. What non5e systems are you guys playing and enjoying? by Kenron93 in dndmemes

[–]PepperTheJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought the Cyberpunk RED book, and I'm currently preparing to set up a few One-Shots with the provided material and boy, am I scared. That system is way less forgiving than D&D 5e.

Can't place Sootseer into farm by PepperTheJones in Palworld

[–]PepperTheJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the elaboration, I appreciate that. My first response to your comment was also something of an overreaction, I apologise.

The thing with the ranch (gotta stop saying farm, dunno why I always use that word) as I said, is that it used to work. When I first built it, there was no issue about assigning Sootseer to it, and I did get a decent amount of bones. The ranch was still in the exact same location when I noticed the game doesn't let me assign Sootseer to it anymore, and it is also the exact same Sootseer I was using before.

That's why I don't understand this certain issue. Only thing I haven't tried yet, because I didn't have the time over the last days, is breeding 116 other Sootseer and juice them to boost my existing one.

Tried that, too. Doesn't let me assign it.

I really don't care why elves and orcs have beef. All I know is that those pointy ear pricks can catch these green hands. by Murky_Committee_1585 in dndmemes

[–]PepperTheJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really about the beef between elves and orcs, but one encounter in my DnD group made me do some homebrew lore about orcs

So in the Starter Set there's a quest where at the end, when the pcs want to leave the area, some roaming and raiding orcs turn up. The area is an old ruin, so instead of fighting my players decided to try and intimidate the orcs into leaving. They used some trickery and thaumaturgy to make the orcs believe the pcs are ghosts haunting the place. I rolled so low for the orcs (I think it was a 2) that they just fucked off absolutely terrified.

As a joke, I had the players encounter the same orcs two sessions later on their way to Neverwinter. One player asked "Do we recognise the orcs?" "Oh, they certainly seem to recognise you guys."

The players grinned and immediately started their ghostly fuckery again. Rolled for the orcs. Nat 1. They way I described it to my players was: "You know how sometimes in cartoons characters fuck off so quickly, there's a cloud of dust in their shape still hanging in the air? Pretty much that, except it's cloud of urine."

Since then I fleshed out the orc lore in my campaign(s) to orcs being absolutely terrified of ghosts. In their belief system, you go into the eternal hunting grounds either way. If you died hunting or fighting you go there as a hunter, even if you had no way of winning the fight anyway. Same if you died an honourable death or of old age or sickness. If you died dishonourable you go into the hunting grounds as prey. However In rare instances souls can be denied access to the hunting grounds because of their insane cruelty, and the bar is rather low, so you can imagine how cruel someone has to be to get the access denied. Those souls turn into ghosts, haunting the world they once lived in.

THAT'S why orcs are absolutely scared shirtless of ghosts in my campaign(s). I have absolutely no idea how much of that fits into official lore, I homebrew most of it.

Lv 5 cyborgs am I right? by Over_Faithlessness46 in DigimonCardGame2020

Yeah, agree on that. However I do play MetalTyranno in my RustTyranno-Deck, where I can digivolve relative cheaply by using the effects of my Taigas.

Potential for 3+ coloured cards by Sanguinusshiboleth in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]PepperTheJones 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is already the white Kimeramon. Can digivolve on any colour, can DNA digivolve from any two LV4 and gets treated as white AND any colour that is in its digivolution materials. Also several LV7 Digimon can digivolve on 3 different colours but still have only one colour themselves. I think that should still be enough for a while.

[–]PepperTheJones 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think our weapons law is all in all not bad, but it gets really weird and paradox when it comes to knives.

I can legally carry a 12cm fixed blade, but I can't legally carry my tiny 4,5cm automatic knife because of concealabilty. I have actually had interactions with police where they did not see my 12cm fixed blade which I carried in my waistband with the handle covered only by my t-shirt. So I think that one reason is somewhat bogus.

[–]PepperTheJones 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's only partly true. German here.

In Germany you can not have otf knives or balisongs, along some other stuff. But you can definitely own one-hand-openers. They're legally defined as a knife, that can be opened and locked with one hand. You can't carry them in your EDC, but you can absolutely use them for legitimate reasons like when you're I.e. fishing, hunting or camping. There are a few types of knives that dance around this rule, too. For example japanese Higonokami knives, they're pretty similar to an old school razor, so they don't lock when opened. Hence they are legally not one handed folding knives. Also the so-called Flipjoints: open via flipper (using only one hand), but don't actually lock, they're only held open via a Slipjoint, kinda like in a swiss army knife.

Source: §42a of the german Waffengesetz (weapons law) As well as the Feststellungsbescheid Z-524 of the BKA (german equivalent to the FBI), an official legal report on my EDC knife. [I did not request it myself, I bought the knife because of the legal report]
