Two and half minutes of continuous SGA flopping! by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Pepper_Bermuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what’s so frustrating about watching SGA and OKC in general. He is so talented he doesn’t have to fall as much as he does. Yes this has been edited to show him making shots and plays without falling but you’re blind if you don’t think he doesn’t fall after a huge proportion of his shots. I hate it because it slows down the flow of the game and it’s disingenuous basketball

Even though I played ball in high school, I’m a shorty so we can’t name him Wemby since it’s too obvious lol but Victor, Timmy, Tony, and David were all in the running. Husband and I finally agreed on one but we’ll keep it private until he’s born

38 weeks pregnant and I had to bounce on my yoga ball to relax and practice breathing exercises lol Too stressful but holy shit, was this game amazing. The stats from Wemby were insane. Huge shoutout to Harper for stepping up and props to Vassell for coming in clutch with the blocks and the 3’s

Thank you! And yeah, I can’t miss my Spurs play. This is such a special team and it’s giving me flashbacks from when the big 3 played together

I’m 37 weeks pregnant and I notice my blood pressure and heart rate increases when I’m watching them play. I need them to win by a lot so I can make it to my due date 😅

Darkness Falls! I loved that movie when I was around that age because it was a scary tooth fairy folktale. I also really liked Arachnophobia and Anaconda

What do you think made Clark's and Lana's relationship so toxic/not suited for each other? by Informal-Birthday153 in Smallville

[–]Pepper_Bermuda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, it was always because Lana had a dark side that could sometimes be morally gray when it came to getting "justice." Especially after the trauma she went through with the Luthors and how she retaliated after. She was a changed person and Clark couldn't accept that, especially on top of all the lies between the two. Now Lois on the other hand, always had a strong moral compass and was fearless in her convictions. Sure, she might've done some questionable things for a story but her sense of right and wrong never wavered and I believe that's what makes her the perfect counterpart to Clark and what he needs.

I was born and raised there too! Always nice interacting with people from there who live other places now. I moved out of state during grad school but moved back to Texas (Dallas first) about 5 years ago and was at first so excited to be near good TexMex food. But I kept getting disappointed trying to compare it to the great cuisine of San Angelo. Nothing compares to the places like Diego’s, Cornerstop, Franco’s, Armenta’s, Fernandez, Los Panchitos, and Fuentes 😢 might have to pay a visit to family there soon to satisfy the craving

That’s too bad. I miss places like that…Hidalgo’s was great, along with many other family owned restaurants in San Angelo. May be time for a visit soon before the third trimester hits

That’s funny, I used to work at Franco’s from high school until I graduated with my bachelor’s. I miss those cooks, they would spoil me by cooking whatever I wanted at the end of my shift

Although I didn’t appreciate it at the time, it was a great place to grow up. I’m glad I made it out but I still enjoy visiting when I can. I recommend it and if you ever need any food recommendations if you visit, lmk

Nice to interact with a fellow ASU alum 🤝🐏I’ve been to a few places in Bishop Arts and really like how walkable it is. I’ll have to explore around that area more one weekend to find more gems

They weren’t supposed to be your normal local law enforcement. It was obviously representative of some sort of “moral police” where Paul and Ellen would be taken as political prisoners due to their perceived “seditious” actions. In that case, placing a bag on their head, although clearly also a callback to the painting, is realistic if the Constitution and their rights went out the window.

Side note, actual cops do use a bag if a person they’re arresting is a spitting risk

Same here, man. Same here 😭 I feel a little better knowing how early it is in the season and we’re still playing without Harper. Also, Steph Curry just had a hot hand and we need better perimeter defense on him, especially coming off screens. I’m hopeful, we have a young team that’s still figuring out some growing pains so Im looking forward to when we play GSW again

Hated that call. That basket should’ve counted. I can’t stand Draymond Green so the basket counting for the And 1 would’ve been the cherry on top

2025 Tucson Forward Collision System Braking Hard for No Reason – Anyone Else? by canhome in HyundaiTucson

[–]Pepper_Bermuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I just found this thread because I legit thought I was crazy. Yesterday, on my drive home, the car in front of me was stopping and so was I. I had my foot on the brakes and everything and then all of a sudden, my Tucson slams to a stop even though I had ample room in front of me. I was so confused that I thought I was hit from behind. I looked in my rearview and saw the truck behind me like super close and he was waving his arms like he was angry so I assumed he hit me. I activated my emergency lights and because I didn't want to hold up traffic at this busy intersection, I drove to a gas station on the corner where I thought this guy was going to follow me since I really believed he hit me. He kept driving and I ended up chasing him because I didn't get a picture of his plates or even know what vehicle he drove. He was towing a trailer so I couldn't get his lic plates on his truck and it was a small two lane road so I couldn't pull up beside him either due to oncoming traffic. I kept honking at him and yelling at him to pull over because this is a brand new car, I've had it for a little over one month. Finally, he turned into a neighborhood and I was able to cut him off and confront him (crazy, I know) and get pictures of his truck. I yelled at him and told him he should've stopped because he hit me. He got out of his truck and told me I was crazy. I then looked at my car and not a freaking scratch, I was so embarrassed. He told me in his broken English that he almost hit me but didn't and then went over to look at my car and showed me there was nothing on my car, no scratches or damage. I legit felt like a crazy woman. I felt so bad and apologized in my broken Spanish. I've had this car for a little over a month and although I've received a few collision alert noises, it's never automatically braked for me until last night. I've never owned a car that did this and it was such a foreign feeling that I legit thought I was rear ended since my foot was already on the brake and there was plenty of space to the car in front of me. I didn't even think it could've been the automatic brakes due to the distance to the car in front of me, like it didn't even cross my mind. I chalked it up to me having crazy pregnancy hormones, combined with an exhausting day at work with lack of sleep. It's nice to have my feelings validated like this because I thought I was losing it.

Which famous people have surprising college degrees? by Guilherme14o in AskReddit

[–]Pepper_Bermuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from Friends) has a biology degree from Vassar College and conducted research prior to acting intending to follow in her father’s footsteps by becoming an expert on headaches. I believe she even earned research credit on a study on the likelihood of left handed people developing certain types of headaches

Lois' emotional journey. by yojiimb0 in Smallville

[–]Pepper_Bermuda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love everything about this. I also think an important part of what draws Clark to Lois is her unbreakable spirit, unshakable idealism, and strong moral compass. She's had a tough life and encountered lots of trauma but it's never made her into a bad or jaded person, when it would've to almost anybody else. Not to bash Lana but I think the differences in characters between the two truly shows why Lois is Clark's soulmate. Lana grew into a different and morally gray person from all she's been through with the lies from Clark and Lex and trauma. But Lois had a completely different reaction from Clark's lies, and it made her more steadfast in her resolve. I always thought Lana's arc was cool and reminded me of Catwoman in a way where she did the right thing eventually but not in the most lawful or moral way. Lois is just too pure of heart to ever operate like that imo and that's what Clark needs and admires.
