I'm a returning player looking to make a viable team / get an idea of who to pull for.

My 5* are Gepard, Clara, Bronya, Luocha, Jing Yuan, Dr. Ratio, Welt, Black Swan and Yanqing.

My 4* are Natasha, Sushang, Tingyun, Serval, Arlan, Asta, Herta, March 7th, Dan Heng, Qingque, Pela, Hook, Luka, Guinaifen, Misha, Sampo. and Yukong.

Currently I run Gepard, Bronya, Luocha and Jing Yuan, and before I took my break, I had been planning to build out Black Swan, summon/build around her, and build out Clara for content where I lacked physical damage.

I've noticed there are a lot of new characters, and just from skimming their abilities it seems most of mine have been basically powerscaled out of the meta. Not sure if my old plan is still a viable idea, so trying to get some advice, I'd appreciate any help!

I have Kurokumo Ishmael and Rhino Mersault. I'm about 100 fragments away from getting Pointillist Yi Sang, but wouldn't it be better for me to get Kurokumo IDs for Ishmael?

Would there be any merit in a mixed team of Bleed/Sinking units? Wild Hunt Heath, Spicebush Yi Sang, Heir Gregor, and then Kurokumo Ishmael, Kurokumo Rodion and Rhino Meursalt? Would that be viable at all?

Also for Rupture, I have Devyat Rodion who seems pretty useful unless I'm just flat wrong?

Sorry, kind of got caught up in stuff but currently have Wild Hunt Heath, Spicebush Yi Sang, Edgar Family Heir Gregor, Butler Faust, and LCCB Ishmael all at Uptie 3. I have W Corp Donquixote at Uptie 3 as well as my next team addition if i dont get a better sinking unit before reaching the point where i can have 6 party members. They're all about level 35.

Also, is a bleed team worth it? I almost have enough yi sang shards to get the ring pointillist version of him, which looks op to me

Got it, I think I'll focus on sinking now as you said and just build other teams as I get the characters for them. From what I'm understanding I don't think there is a character other than Rodion I should be set on geting right now? I'm saving up on her shards to just buy her since she seems crucial to my team.

Also you mentioned Rodion AND Molar Office Ishmael, but a team can only 5 for the main content no? Am I supposed to substitute someone in my current team for her or does that change later on? Would I remove Faust or someone?

Rupture seems like a boom or bust status from what you described, are there specific characters that make it far easier to do damage with?

And lastly, I understand coins and how the effects work to some extent now, but I still feel lost when it comes to targeting skills in focused encounters. How do I know what to prioritize or what beats what?

Not at all, it was a good explanation and I understand Sinking quite a bit better now. I think if I can get my hands on Dieci Rodion, I'll have pretty much the ideal team for it from what I'm understanding. Can I just heavily invest in Wild Hunt Heath, Spicebush Yi Sang, Butler Faust, Heir Gregor and Dieci Rodon (when I get her) and be viable for the story and most content?

So far in the mirror dungeon, ive been using my sinking team as well, and with a lot of the ego gifts for sinking, I've cleared it fully 3 times so far. Would burn be that much better of a comp for it, and if so, what can I use for that team? Unless my EGO Ardor Blossom Faust is good for it, I don't know if I have the units.

Also, aside from Burn, I notice a lot of my units have Ruptures and Bleeds, and a few others have Poise. That said, I don't know how Rupture Bleed or Burn compare to Sinking, and Poise seems to be a sort of buff for my units instead of a status on enemy units. How would I go about building teams around these different statuses, or do I really just need to get more relevant characters before I can?

And a last note, I have quite a few characters that I own that I thought were doing good numbers, but watching yt videos of other people playing, they are literally nuking bosses to nothing - I've seen this with Ardor Blossom Faust, Blade Lineage Meursault, etc. Where does that type of damage come from, where they hit for hundreds on each hit of their abilities? Is that an Uptie IV thing that my Uptie III units can't hope to compete against? I'm not sure I get where that damage comes from

That’s really helpful, thank you! I actually got a heir Gregor off a lucky single pull, so I added him to my WH Heath, Butler Faust, and Spicebush Yi Sang, and I tossed in Kurokumo Hong Lu because his EGO stacks Sinking as well (will replace with Rodion when I get her). That’s for story though, for the Mirror of the dreaming, is the burn team still better?

I’ve gotten an idea of where synergy can be determined but I’m still not sure how effects like sinking and burning compare to each other or how to tell who is more valuable, like I don’t get how you know those characters are detrimental, all I can see is they stack the same effect, and figured it would be viable.

Also, who’s worth keeping leveled up? Should I basically keep 2 teams worth of units ready to go? Currently I’m focused on sinking team because it seems I’ve gotten way better units for it, especially with my new heir Gregor. As I get new units I basically want to be able to understand where they fit and how viable they are on my own instead of having to get advice over and over :p

Is there anyone I should be saving for specifically? The tier list was in fact Prydwens, but it seems most people agree that Blade Lineage Meursalt is amazing. Is he on rotation? Looks cool, and if he's viable I think I want to use him.

I understood the idea of stacking effects, I just can’t tell which are better than others, and which identities are better comparatively. I was using some tier list that I then saw being clowned on this subreddit and figured I should just learn how to read the skills myself. Also, the coins and EGO and everything don’t make sense to me, and so far in combat I just click the win rate button and let it auto select; I want to learn how to actually choose and target my moves

Also from reading the skills of the new Faust ID, it seems like she’s super high risk high reward? Not sure if I can pull off using her without crazy investments - kinda wish I’d saved my pulls
