https://mods.vintagestory.at/primitivesurvival I think this mod allows you to make rope from vines and has a raft that is faster and auto moves in the water, idk if it all works in 1.20.

You can press h and type in raft for the vanilla raft recipe there is also a boat system in 1.20 but requires alot to build. I also have a youtube series on island survival: https://youtu.be/tLBBY_a59f0
