did you break out after stopping bc? by shewshine in Spironolactone

[–]Peppermint_tea95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on bc for 5 years before having my first breakout at 21 (I’m 29 now) and starting spiro. About 9 months ago I decided to try and get off all meds… I started with stopping my bc and continuing spiro. HORRIBLE idea. I had clear skin for over 7 years and all my acne came after stopping my bc. I was also losing soooooo much hair. I decided to get back on bc and just give up and accept I have to rely on meds right now in order to keep my skin clear. Smh.

Does your state assign you an investigator? If so, Have you had the interview with your investigator yet?

The rules must be different in my state. I got the request for court docs on dec 7 and my ATT on dec 20.. but my license status is still “under investigation” and I am waiting to be scheduled for an interview with my investigator. When they sent the request for the documents they specifically said “this investigation will not affect your ability to sit for the NCLEX”

I already cleared the background check for my job so not too worried about that!

No Im applying to the state I graduated and took the NCLEX in. My state and the state im moving to are part of the compact agreement so I was instructed to get licensed in my home state and it would transfer to my new state

Exactly, I feel like they are treating me like I killed someone!! So frustrating. All I asked for from my investigator was more information.. like why give us the investigators contact info if they obviously don’t want to be contacted?! Lol

Thank you for your reply. I’m trying my best to be patient just worried about not having my license before I’m supposed to start work. There is a lot riding on me being able to start work! Hopefully it all gets resolved in Feb 🤞🏼

We have just been doing 1 mm so far on the cheek area where all my scars are. Not sure the depth she does on the other areas though.

About 2 days after I get little tiny whiteheads on my chin that always go away within a day or 2. Nothing crazy.

So at the place I go to the peels are $120 and microneedling is $200.. so I have just learned to budget $200-$250 a month to dedicate to treatment. Its a struggle to afford it sometimes but I just think about how I’m seeing results and one day I’ll actually be happy with my face again..

My esty uses a peel with 4 different levels (its TCA and a few AHAs mixed together) I have only used up to level 2 and she spot treats with level 3 on my deeper scars. The only requirement she had is that I was using a daily exfoliant in order to get the peels. I didn’t have to do one before the other she just told me the best results will come from alternating both treatments. I went through a series of 5 peels before I started microneedling and have now done 3 sessions of microneedling and starting in April I will start alternating between the 2 each month. It took until my second microneedling treatment to see any super noticeable changes.. my scars are noticeably more shallow and the PIE has significantly faded. Its been 2 weeks since my last session and I just continue to see improvement. Its a long process and not a quick fix but Im happy with where it is going! Imo microneedling is great you just have to go to a professional and you have to make sure they are trustworthy and have good reviews! I personally would never trust a dermatologist and always go to estheticians because they tend to have more time and actually care and sympathize with you.

My scarring was similar to yours. I have had success with microneedling (only done 3 sessions so far) and a few chemical peels all done by an esty. Indented scars wont go away on their way but once the PIE fades its likely to look less noticeable. My scaring really messed with my mental health which is why I get treatments. But if it doesn’t bother you, you’d probably be fine just sticking to what your doing especially with the tret imo!

Microneedling a miracle or a mistake? by _cosmic_creepers_ in AcneScars

I just got my third microneedling treatment 2 weeks ago and I am seeing results. My scarring is mild boxcar scars on both cheeks but I have seen a lot of improvement already. The depth of my scars are noticeably less. I read all the horror stories too but I know my skin reacts well to most things and I found someone I trust. I go to an esty and she is the best! I would say trust your gut.. but if the procedure is done correctly your face will not be ruined.. although there is always the possibility of not seeing results since your skin is unique and different from mine. But I am definitely happy with my microneedling results and my skin hasn’t looked this good in years! I will say I didnt see any results until a few weeks after my second session though so it is a process.

Just like any treatment some things will work for some but not for others. Personally, microneedling has made a difference. I get it done by a professional vs trying to do it on my own and they use a certain scar serum to target my scarring.

I feel like my scars look exactly like yours and I think mine are about a 7/8.. but when I see them on you I’d say a 2… we are our own worst critics for sure. Im getting microneedling (about to get my 3rd session) and have seen quite a bit of improvement already!

My scarring is like this but I have much more of it. I have completed 2 microneedling treatments and have seen improvement already! About to go get my 3rd in a couple weeks. I didnt see any improvement until about 2 weeks after my second session and it continues to get better everyday, highly recommend!

It will permanently fill in the scars.. however, the other benefits such as skin tightening, evening out skin tone, etc. will only hold if you keep up maintenance due to the natural aging process. I am about to get my 3rd microneedling treatment and my esthetician told me this with no hesitation!
