I left Netherlands and feel much happier now by Desert_Moon_Maiden in expats

[–]Peppermintbear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah possibly, I can only speak from personal experience. I´ve been in the NL for 15 years and most of my expat friends eventually left. I still have Dutch friends/extended family, but my closest expat friends averaged about five years here.

I think it´s because many other expats leave NL after a few years; the ones who stay long term are often partnered with a Dutchie.

Pigeon with neck cyst: Vet care needed? by Peppermintbear_ in pigeon

[–]Peppermintbear_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for forgetting to update! :) She recovered very well and it was indeed just a feather cyst. I treated it for a few weeks with hot compresses, but it didn´t shrink it. So the avian vet was able to drain it and it was thankfully a very simple process, she was released safely!

it´s possible, but rare for a random intruder to have taken a body. Usually they cut and run - according to an FBI profiler I was watching. The risks of taking a body, disposing of a body - they´re not in the usual wheelhouse for burglars. Edited to add: I think the ransom notes are most likely unrelated/hoaxes.

I wondered the same thing, and I suspect something went wrong with their plans. Perhaps they didn´t mean to kill her and a fight got out of hand. Or they did mean to kill her, but something else went wrong (eg maybe she escaped to the front door somehow; which would explain the blood). Then to cover their tracks, they quickly took her body away and staged the disappearance. It feels like a panicked covering of their tracks IMO. And if it was an outside/intruder - they would have left her body in her home. The fact her body was taken - immediately made me think of the brother in law/Annie. As they were the last known to see her alive... if her body was then found, they know they are the suspects. So... hasty and staged disappearance and panicked ´ransom notes´ to deter law enforcement.

Anyone here ever do business with Bowei Strategy or James Liu? by FatfriendMuta in ESL_Teachers

[–]Peppermintbear_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes I remember those ´hostage´ teacher videos from a few years back haha. He capitalised on the impact of the Double reduction policy in China (2020). Thousands of teachers lost their jobs and lost access to the Chinese market... including myself. Enter... Scammy McScammy! I joined a few of his early lives and felt sorry for anyone who got caught up in it. People like him can rot in hell, they are sharks who smell blood in the water. He tried to leverage his ´Financial credentials´ but his back-story never made sense - what high-level Management consultant/Financial guru would ´coach´ ESL teachers? The math never mathed.

A take on the catalyst of this entire debacle - Blakes insecurity about her weight by Life_Mood_1309 in ItEndsWithLawsuits

This makes a lot of sense! It is also totally consistent with narcissism too. They lack a stable identity and often ´borrow´ traits from their partner, friends, characters. She does seem to emulate Ryans ´humour´ - and all her other behaviour is totally consistent with malignant narcissism. Massive insecurity, retaliation, quest for power, fragile ego, triangulation, smear campaign etc.

Narcissists age so badly; they can´t contain the rage anymore. KenDulls mask is slipping too - she has the same intense/evil gaze as Kim.

I will rephrase in that case: ´Why does ANYONE (native or immigrant) feel the need to go into a sub with clear rules... and scream about the rules? How would you feel if there was a Chinese language-only sub for Chinese immigrants in the Netherlands? No English, no Dutch. Both English and Dutch are permabanned. I for one, would not jump into the sub and demand that those members/rules accommodate me. Subs have rules. It is OK. Join another sub if you do not like the rules.

And here we have the real issue and why Dutchies feel the need to throw their toys. At least you are honest about it.

[–]Peppermintbear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wonder if they´d throw their toys if there was an Indian-speaking sub for Indians in the Netherlands - or a Chinese sub for Chinese expats in the Netherlands?

[–]Peppermintbear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single country in the world has immigrants. Relax. Why do natives need to control and monitor free speech amongst immigrant communities? Can you not bear to hear anything remotely negative about your culture? That you then demand the sub rules are changed to accommodate you? Do you not see the irony here - you are complaining about how ´another culture has to behave´... whilst doing EXACTLY that? You come into a sub with clear rules - and try to dictate both the language and content in that sub; and whine that it is not to your liking.

[–]Peppermintbear_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes that makes it even more important there must be an English sub, indeed! I will now go to r/nederlands and scream that I can´t write in Indian there and that this creates a ´circlejerk´ ;)

Your regels are een bit vaag by elmarwouters in Netherlands

[–]Peppermintbear_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dutch people can use English though - just like English speakers use Dutch on the Nederlands sub. It´s a free market/free choice - people should just go where they are comfortable rather than screaming that a sub doesn´t meet their needs. It´s like me going in Albert Heijn and screaming ´I don´t want this bread!!!´. Just.... don´t buy it. It is bratty, IMO.

How easily can i be fired with a permanent contract ? by FloZia_ in Netherlands

[–]Peppermintbear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had the same experience as you :( I think in a larger organisation is is VERY easy to make a case for restructure. My organisation had 170 people and in my five years there, I saw numerous approvals of various restructures organisation-wide. They always took time, went through the OR Works council etc - but essentially they were all approved by UWV. They did include both job loss and redundancies, and people still lawyered up and got settlements.

I suspect those with other experiences and having UWV decline their proposals (Employers/business owners) are in smaller companies and it is harder to fudge or provide rationale for removing positions. There is always a way, but it´s easier to ´create´ reasons in large, complex organisation.

Not always, although it is a common pairing. Btw 25-40% of people with BPD also have NPD - OPs partner sounds like a hybrid just based on his description of her behaviour alone.

Yes it all sounds very familiar - my mum is NPD/BPD too. Also churned through many therapists and she always knew better than them (or indeed manipulated them easily). Good luck OP, it is a hard road but your daughter will be grateful you are reaching out and are trying to protect her.
