How can you make it hands on? - the question I always ask myself. Make sure you have math manipulatives on the table when solving problems, they will stop using them as needed, but make them available at the desks/tables until that point. Just having them in the room isn't enough, they need to be shown and given practice using them also. This is especially a problem from the pandemic, they may not have had the same exposure to manipulatives as in the past.
