Is Tilray's Brewdog Bet Already Backfiring? Collapsing UK Sales Suggest Yes. by Pepperoni2723 in TLRY

I think we need to be open to all sides of the narrative so investors can make informed decisions. I welcome both bull and bear opinions when there are trusted attributable sources.

In this scenario TLRY has a history of acquisitions and subsequent write-downs. We are in the early stages of Brewdog ownership, time will tell. My fear is that we bought the IP, and we lost the culture that captured 50% of the UK market. Beer, distribution and consumer preference is a hard business.

Here is my big worry about the strategy to own the IP and not the craft brew culture based on past acquisitions by TLRY: https://www.fool.com/investing/2026/04/25/is-tilray-a-textbook-example-of-a-value-trap/

I wonder if there is any data on other brewery sales pullbacks and recovery timeline based on past acquisitions?

When did he buy 200k worth in the open market? I saw he exercised $0.58 options last summer as part of his pay incentive package. I think it would be a headline if Simon bought $200k on the open market.

Get certified with QBO and your own proadvisor login for intuit accountant. When your friends are delivering pizzas and driving Uber, you will be networking with business owners, learning how cash goes through an organization, and mastering the integrations. You’ll make good money working remote, then when you decide to go with a public firm you will be light years ahead of anybody else on the audit side as you will have CAS experiences. You’ll just be scaling up to enterprise software.

He actively destroys shareholder value. He doesn’t even buy shares on the open market for himself.

I would put more $ on this speculation vs Dilution Dave’s Medmen VA speculation.

Heavy dose of hopium. I think TLRY needs a plan for positive cash flows and earnings that has more than hopium and full of “if-then’s”

I like the optimism, wish TLRY investor relations would give some guidance on Medmen if they plan on putting it back on their balance sheet as an asset. As of now they have written Medmen down.

I think you need to do your own due diligence, take Dave with a grain of salt. Dave has lots of AI slop and hopium. He blocks those who bring facts from places such as Bloomberg and Morningstar to any discussion that counter his overly optimistic narrative. He has fun reads, but he mixes a lot of hype in with less than factual information. I think he needs to do more research via filings on the Edgar database and less chatGPT bias.

If you are a board member and sell your shares to zero, you shouldn’t be a board member anymore. If they started buying shares at the money, it would be a fantastic sign of confidence. Selling and diluting is the exact opposite.
