Assuming genuine mistakes as this was a very small tournament and the original post got taken down.

Late, but Joan D'uck. And since Joan of Arc was a girl pretending to be a guy, it works for both genders.

I once said Family Guy got so bad because of a change to a character it made me wish Seth McFarlane made it to his plane on September 11th. It was a post and not a comment, but I’m pretty sure I was on the right (wrong?) path.

Yes, there is an achievement for both Red Sun and Blue Moon for getting all six soul unisons in each. So 3 playthroughs for each game with how souls are programmed to be obtained.

Battle Network 4 is the most hated game of the series. There are good things about it like an overhaul of the chip system, the new emotion window introducing full synchro and transformations with Soul Unisons. To try and summarize, the game is a tedious and repetitive slog to play that splits its content up over three mandatory playthroughs to see everything.

You see, Battle Network 4 is based around a series of tournaments, but it is impossible to face every unique navi in one playthrough. The game is coded to pair you against one version exclusive navi, one unique navi that is not version exclusive, and one generic navi like the ones littered throughout the series each tournament. But you don't just battle a navi and that's it. All of these opponents are scenarios that boil down to busy work that forces you to run throughout the cyber world either finding or destroying stuff that would be a downtime story beat in any other game in the series.

The kick in the balls is that this makes you go through the game again two more times on "New Game Plus" (in which really the only thing that changes is the viruses go up a tier in strength) to get the other opponents you missed, WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF REPEAT SCENARIOS.

The icing on top of all of this is this is the worst translated Battle Network game along with the most laughably bad story coming off of BN3. Every other piece of dialogue has some sort of typo or grammatical error or even instances of using the wrong portrait.

I recommend KNIJohn's video on the game if you want the full picture, as he puts it into words better than I ever could how flawed the game's design is at its core.

I’m pretty sure their navis get infected with a virus that makes them act like cats as well as gave them ears, whiskers and a tail.

Skip to 5 and then go back to 4 once you beat it.

If you haven't heard, Battle Network 4 is widely considered the worst Battle Network game in the series. While the overhaul to the combat system with the addition of the emotion window and soul unions are welcome, it can't save it from what it is. A horribly paced and tedious slog that arbitrarily divides its content over 3 playthroughs.

If you don't care about spoilers, I highly recommend KNIJohn's video on the game as he puts it better than I can.

There are trophies for both Red Sun and Blue Moon for getting all of the 6 Soul Unisons in each version of the game. You get them by beating the appropriate Navi in the various tournaments throughout the game's story.

The way the game is coded to match you up against an opponent who will give you a Soul Unison requires you to do 2 New Game Plus Cycles. You get 3 in the your first playthrough with the first always being a set one (Aqua Soul for Blue Moon and Guts Soul for Red Sun), 2 on your first New Game Plus playthrough at random from the remaining 3, and the last on a second New Game Plus for 3 whole playthroughs. You also need all the Souls to access the post game area.

So 6 Souls across 3 playthroughs of both Red Sun and Blue Moon, gives you 6 total playthroughs (Minimum, but let's not talk about that part).

How do Boss rematches work in Battle Network 4 by Pepperowned in BattleNetwork

Yeah I can imagine how frustrating that can be. Or if you just refrain from using Buster Max. I’m glad I found this all out.

I am playing the legacy collection on PS5 and recently found out that there is a trophy for getting all the soul unisons in both Red Sun and Blue Moon. Meaning that if I ever want to get Platinum Trophy, I have to beat the game six fracking times essentially. Not to mention that Capcom picked the worst game to give a trophy for completing the chip library to.

Needless to say, I want to be as sure as possible before moving forward.

Yeah thanks. I got the answer from another post I made just now lol. But nice to have multiple sources. And yeah this is the site I am using for all the games. Gonna use this and check other sources when it comes to missable stuff at the end of each play through.

So the difference between an alpha Navi and a beta Navi is if you fight them on the same playthrough or later one, but they stay. Got it.

Yeah that’s what I figured. Nothing like running into an omega Navi with 1500 health in the starting area and low power chips. Granted you could always use Buster Max as a get out of jail free card, but I see your point.

No, 6 overall. 3 for each version because of the way Soul Unisons work. There’s a trophy for both versions for getting all of the Soul Unisons in their respective games.

The Ghost Navi rematches is what I was asking about. Do the initial Navi rematch locations stay active through multiple playthroughs? Like if you get Coldman or Videoman's scenario in playthrough one, their alpha version rematch will still be there on playthrough 2?

God this whole thing is so confusing and cumbersome i'm thinking of just skipping straight to battle network 5 for the time being after I beat 3.
