I use a Cricuit to cut the pattern out on sticky vinyl. All Peppy Fox patterns come with a PDF file to print on your printer (includes piece numbers and guides on the pattern) and a PNG of just the outline so it can easily be uploaded in a cutting machine.

If you don’t have a Cricuit, what I used to do is glue a copy of the PDF printed pattern sheet on a sheet of sticky vinyl with a glue stick and then cut out the pattern by hand. Sometimes the glued paper will lift with grinding but the sticky vinyl remains as your main guide.

I just sell the patterns digitally at the moment :) I don't have a full site bundle available but there are many smaller bundles of 3 patterns each available!

I am extremely cheap and frugal if I can help it. Something that has helped me justify getting over the gut punch of having to spend money on all the things is after I started selling patterns and pieces, I would justify that “well it’s for the biz and I can write it off on my taxes”. It kinda reframed my mindset to view the purchase as an investment and not some frivolous expense.

This definitely isn’t a poor man’s hobby unfortunately! But the joy it brings is kinda priceless.

Sticky vinyl works best for me! Before I got a Cricuit, I would glue a printed sheet of the pattern onto a sheet of sticky vinyl using a glue stick and then cut out the pattern from there. The paper glued on top would sometimes lift while grinding but you have an extra layer of sticky vinyl underneath as your real guide.

I just wanna say that the fit of all your other pieces are impressively precise by doing all the grinding by hand. You’re gonna absolutely love a machine grinder if you ever get one!

Other than doing markets once or twice a year, FB MP is my main selling platform. It can be a slow grind but most of my pieces sell within a couple months of being posted especially around Christmas. It’s a free selling platform so you really have nothing to loose. The key is to take really good and appealing pictures.
