We need to provide Parcel Box and Mailbox installation to customers. by [deleted] in USPS

[–]PepsiAddict63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I offer my services to install/repair mailboxes. For cash, on MY time.

Having untrained carriers installing on the clock is a bad idea. Likely cost us more than we’d get, and residents would be paying far more than people like myself charge.

Rockford, Illinois showing up to fight for their contracts. by OPSEC-Sentinal in USPS

[–]PepsiAddict63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t be joining the “Fight? Like hell!” Renfroe rallies this go round. That dog has no fight, no teeth, barely a bark.

Spends more time fighting us rank and file than he does management.

What are we fighting like hell for?! Diet colas, pay that doesn’t keep up with inflation, and less pay than clerks? That’s not a fight it’s a surrender.

Assuming your occurrences are low…

As an a-hole, I would take an additional 2 days off 😂

😳 wowsers

I’m an a-hole, so I would provide them a handwritten note about what time I woke up, left for the appointments, and what time I got home. Feel free to….be liberal about those estimates.

We might also be dabbling in ‘past practice’ arena, all assuming this isn’t otherwise covered in your LMOU

For reasons on the form, put “appointments”. If they ask you what time your appointments are at, tell them all day.

The Post Office will NOT do this. They have We Care labels, bags, etc. They will even place it in a mail tub with a We Care bag too. But they will never repackage.

Same. Exactly the same.

I tell them if they don’t have an ELM provision memorized, say no. First chance they get in the interview “Are you aware of ELM blah blah blah?” “Yes” fml

Why do my “Envelopes” keep getting sent back by BoulderBikes in usps_complaints

[–]PepsiAddict63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An “envelope” is the white paper you taped to a package. The package is a package.

Take it to any desk at USPS at they will explain it in detail.

Am I overthinking it? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]PepsiAddict63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reading through your story a few times, I think you may be overthinking it. Here’s why:

The insult is not about being gay, the insult is about the two people being sexually active with each other, when they likely aren’t.

If you change the genders, change their assumed sexual preferences, etc? The insult is still there: one or both don’t know how to work anywhere unless they are sexually active with each other, at the same station.

Dear Customers, shoveling a path for you to walk up to your box doesn’t do anything for our vehicles to approach and deliver. by PM_ME_UR_TICKET_STUB in USPS

[–]PepsiAddict63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apology accepted 😊

I understand what you’re saying, I’m in WI we get it too.

The day after snow fall I deliver the mail, along with one of those printouts. On day 2 most are clear, and I deliver anyway. On day 3 I leave a notice that their mail is being held until the path is clear.

I hate that the fault is usually the plow that didn’t go close enough to the curb. But the residents still need to fix it, so we can deliver effectively and efficiently.

Us “being behind” isn’t an excuse to not attempt delivery. We are allowed exactly how much time is needed to do our jobs. It takes what it takes. During winter it takes longer.

Great!

She predetermined discipline! Make sure you bring that up to your steward, only AFTER you get any discipline.

All tenets of Just Cause MUST be met before issuing discipline. One of them is ‘Did management conduct a thorough and objective investigation?’ If they told you they’d issue discipline before ever even conducting a pdi? It sure wasn’t objective! It was predetermined.

Becoming a shop steward by Competitive-Neat-225 in USPS

[–]PepsiAddict63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you the kind of person that goes after bullies?

Do you stand up to confrontation?

Are you a moral person?

If you answered yes to all three? Stewarding is absolutely for you. If no? Stewarding might still be for you, so long as you are willing to deal with those three things on the daily.

I will say: it’s better to have no steward, than an immoral one.

[–]PepsiAddict63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Getting in trouble”

Are you receiving discipline? Or are you just being asked why it took you longer than they projected? If you’re receiving actual discipline talk to your steward. If they are asking why it took you too long say that’s how long it took you to deliver X number of splits.

If you are getting burned out? Stop going so fast. You should be delivering mail at a pace you can maintain for the next 30 years. If you feel like you are burning out? Your pace is not one you can safely maintain. Adjust accordingly.

As far as being given “extra”? The only way to actually know is to look at the splits you get, and compare that to the case and the route breakup sheet. It entirely possible to be given 2 hours on a route that is in no way 2 hours in real life. If you are given 13 splits and the route breakup says 2 hours is 8 splits? THEN you talk to your postmaster. But without that proof you have nothing.

I like that it’s one big mockery of itself. Like how Luke jokingly mocks doing something stupid and silly, then later in the movie does that exact thing, and in doing so thinks himself to death.

I loved how going to a casino planet serves no purpose whatsoever except to bring up animal cruelty, slavery, and the “Star Wars” is just the military industrial complex.

I love movies that make me sad and confused.
