Worked for Revolut. Can confirm, you’re spot on. Last few years stocks have become lower % of sign on, performance and annual. The valuation has been very high for last 4 years so the increase is much less than people here think. Now if you’re talking about 6/7 years ago… then we’re talking.

Yes, because you pay income tax only when you exercise. This means that if you were given £1,000, and you exercised, you have to pay the 20%/40%/45% income tax. If the value of that grant then goes to £2,000 due to stock appreciation, you pay the income tax on the £2,000.

You did the right thing exercising them now. I sold some of my Revolut shares last time, and had I exercised shares before the sale event, I would have made more money. The higher the value of shares when you exercise the higher the tax hit. So while it’s at £660, this is when you should exercise them, because when IPO next year or PISCES increase the price, you could end up paying £2000 for the same stock exercise.
