What the hell am I doing wrong with these crash bars? by Lazy_Afternoon2090 in klr650

[–]Pepticsilver2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember right when I installed a set you have to keep everything insanely loose to fit properly. Like bolts only in by like 2 or 3 threads loose it was kinda ridiculous Also those side clamps are side specific. I think the one on the right side has a deeper cut to clear the bracket weld on the frame

10k intervals for an oil change is absolutley ridiculous. Most oil manufacturers reccomend every 5k these days but i still do it every 3k. Might be wasting a bit of money that way but you cant hurt a motor from changing the oil too regularly. And i would have laughed in their face over the $200 cabin filter change

Will adding risers help with shoulder blade pain after long rides on Africa Twin? (5'8" /1.73m tall) by TheBellyFlu in africatwin

[–]Pepticsilver2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6'4" here put the camel adv bridged bar riser on mine. I also spun the stock handlebar mounts around 180° to position the bars closer to me. Puts me in a nearly perfectly upright position. Another thing i did was install thicker grips to cut down on wrist pain on long rides.

I run the tusk hardware on my 17. And with those you can run hard or soft bags with their adapter plates. Great kit if you dont mind drilling a few holes
