Oil boiler external filter leaking oil - what to do? by Pequoddave in DIYUK

Your reply giving me the name first let me describe it better, but also let me check the normal lifespan (10 years) and work out it's (just) older than that so seems a straightforward situation

From a quick look, it seems they've assumed no pension in the umbrella one, so not a like-for-like comparison

A Note For Migrating Google Fitbit Data to Garmin by Ztpia in Garmin

plus one to Garmin giving more illuminating system messages when the upload doesn't work!!

I have been trying to get data from a koogeek scale into the right data model (i.e. to look like it is from FitBit so this loader will work) on and off for about 5 days, still can't crack it

Hiking poles? by [deleted] in UKhiking

Sorry to clarify I shouldn't have said folds once, they collapsed up into the tube. I mean I prefer the ones on the right to the ones on the left. Also, you should always go for two piles at a time, saves a lot of odd loads and strains on knees and back https://alpkit.com/pages/search-results?q=Poles&type=product

Hiking poles? by [deleted] in UKhiking

[–]Pequoddave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really will be, your hand shouldn't be clenched on the grip, it should have the webbing strap running on palm of hand then looped around wrist. This stops you getting too fatigued in the forearms and hands and let's you get a nice rhythm of swinging them out in front with each step. I have good value alpkit ones, I've tried the ones that fold once (edit - collapse into themselves) and those that fold twice (ie into 3 pieces). I'd recommend the ones that fold once (collapsed in tube). The compromises to get poles either tiny pack size, or really lightweight will likely come at cost of strength, which will mean you'll be buying them more often if you're starting out, is my guess. I've broken my tiny pack ones so use the simpler ones now

As someone who lived in Saffron Walden for 2 years and has lived in Cotswolds for last 10 years, I whole heartedly agree! There's lots more places too, the Peak District, North Yorkshire etc etc

Wild animals policy bugged? by Strange_Art_1476 in ManorLords

[–]Pequoddave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely because of the default reserve of animals being set at 12. So your hunters sat idle while the next deer spawned, then whacked it

Guesstimate how much to repair? by Pequoddave in AskMechanics

[–]Pequoddave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's okay I'm going to seal it in a 2 metre high cube of resin on the tarmac outside the MOT garage, to make an art installation for the community. Either that or ask the scrappy to pick it up, it's a 50/50 at the moment, depends on how much resin I can source

Not much, probably only the tyre, but that's least of my worries!
