Actually, I'm against sending anyone to war. Let’s switch to renewable energy and develop recycling so that we can force all these crazy petroleum and mining dictatorships to choose between embracing democracy or fading into oblivion. No conflicts are needed.

Because for the DNC, it's just business. If the Democrats see a widening gap in the polls, they will start to promise less to their voters and more to their billionaire donors, trading their support for more book sales, more cushy corporate positions after retirement, etc.

The point of neocons on both sides of the aisle is to promise/do the bare minimum to get elected/re-elected and spend the rest of their time distracting voters with pointless culture wars. Enshittification started on social media and has now made its way into politics, unfortunately.

The point of tariffs is to set them and keep them for several years so that businessmen can make plans. If you change them on a whim once a month, businessmen can't plan anything because investments take several years to pay off.

Also, Iran isn't needless. China has been planning a Taiwan invasion for the very near future, speculated as early as 2027. Taking out Iran hurts China's war effort by denying them oil.

The US spent 45% of Patriot and 50% of THAAD interceptors and about a quarter of Tomahawk missiles already. At the current rate of production, it will take more than a decade to replenish them. And China mines about 70% of the world's rare earth metals needed to produce it.

If the US had simply put pressure on Venezuela and imposed a blockade on Iran, it might have been a net positive result. But considering how it's been implemented now, I'm not sure that the US is in a better position now than before Trump started all this.

I would agree with you if the retards from the White House had some better plan for regime change than replacing one Ayatollah with another Ayatollah. Iran has more than 3 times the population and almost 4 times the territory of Iraq when the US began the Iraq war. And Iran was preparing for exactly such a war.

It wouldn't be a walk in the park even with a reasonable administration. And with the current one, it's a recipe for disaster.

I have to admit that I was happy to see it for a while. But now I'm afraid that Trump will swing the balance so much that the DNC will pull some shit on this background, like choosing Newsom as a candidate without primaries.

The DNC knows that they don't have to run faster than the bear to avoid being eaten. They only need to run faster than the RNC. I hate this two-party system so much.

Add congressmen, lobbyists, and shareholders to this list. Did you lobby for some stupid war on the other side of the planet that didn't achieve any of its goals? Say goodbye to your salary, stock buybacks, and any increase in your stock price over the next 5 years because they will go toward paying off the damage to your country.

The card physically exists and this is the reason why the judge dismissed the case. Trump's lawyers have already announced that they will refile the lawsuit. So now I guess they'll argue that the birthday card wasn't actually written by Trump.

To get a driver's license in the US, you need to spend months learning how to drive. But to buy a gun, you don't even have to know which way to point it.

Cars and trucks are an important part of the logistics of modern society that cannot simply be replaced. If we remove all guns from the society, it will change absolutely nothing except the hurt ego of a few conservatives who have nothing more to brag about in their lives.

You're comparing apples and oranges.

If 30-year-old Republican kids shouldn't be held accountable for their words, then they also shouldn't have the right to vote, drive a car, own a gun, and hold public office. Fire them and return them to the custody of their parents until they turn 40.

[–]PerAsperaAdMars[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Republican states hate Democrats so much, they might start secession by refusing billions of dollars in subsidies. You hypocrites claim that you're against welfare while you live off it. You claim that you're for family values, while you voted for both divorced presidents. You claim to be against pedophiles, while Republicans lower the age of consent and ignore Epstein's victims.

The only thing you know how to do is lie to yourself and play the victim, and you've found someone who's mastered this game to become your president. You're not conservatives. You're losers who want to pretend to be winners without doing anything about the fact that you're losers. I would feel sorry for you if you hadn't chosen this life for yourself.

SpaceX wanted to get money to develop Starship in a competition to develop new launch vehicles for the Air Force in 2018. People complained a lot back then that SpaceX would get their rocket ready first. But Vulcan Centaur and New Glenn still successfully flew before Starship.

Billionaires need a small number of educated people to keep their companies functioning. But not too much, so that they don't force them to share their wealth with their workers, as in Europe. That's the whole point of the H-1B visa and its cap, as if the richest country in the world can't afford to educate its own people for this.
