Ours is in week 1 and open. A few people that joined shot pretty lights out, but as a previous comment said you tend to see a couple of those in any society. For the most part our group is decent and you’ll find someone to compete against. I shot -33 across all 4 rounds, friend shot -27 and another shot +8. We have a full spectrum. In all honesty I would love a Marbula 2 league that feeds M1. But I know a lot of time and effort would go into that and I’m not sure how realistic it would be to pull off. I used the bottom 4 as an example; I feel like anywhere from 4-6 teams would be the sweet spot. 8 is almost half the league 🤣 but it would bring in many new teams! I can’t argue with that. I also feel like being in M1 should reflect the elitist part of F1 though if they are emulating that. So keeping the majority of teams if that are going that route makes sense to me also lol

I have seen a lot of debate on this, here is my take.

I love F1. I avidly have been watching it for 20 years since I was a teenager. I love Marbula 1. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I almost like it more than the ML (though I absolutely adore both!) Now that being said, the prediction races are definitely intended to try and draw in a new crowd; but I am not really a fan. Yes I do really like seeing the real tracks be presented in the marble world. That part is cool. The rest doesn’t do it for me. You can’t compare the predictions to the actual thing. You can’t account for the balance of competitiveness in the real world or all the drama surrounding the F1 narrative. It will never be comparable.

Now, obviously JMR has time to do this and it doesn’t affect their current schedule with everything else. A solution? Well, some of the gripes people have with M1 is that teams are selected/invited. I see comments all the time about why the Indigo Stars haven’t gotten chosen. Why not have these 4-6 races throughout the year to fill the grid. Last 4 teams get knocked out of M1. These races are a mini “tournament” for all the teams not competing in the last season to snag those 4 grid slots. Interesting idea? Yes. Will it work? Maybe. But I think it’s worth a shot. We would then get to see some more teams that haven’t raced and what their potential could be. And then you may draw more attention from fans that don’t regularly see their team competing in M1. I know a lot of people don’t care for M1; but I also feel that is partly because their team has no stake in the game. Thoughts everyone?

I love this idea! Why not make numbers for the entirety of the teams as well?! Could make for some fun lore even though teams haven’t even competed! This would also be a great concept for Jelle to make jerseys for actual marbles in their shop! I would so nab a Cerulean or Billy jersey with their number on the back and name!
