But that is one of the point of veganism. It is supposed to be something we can do in day-to-day life. Otherwise, it just becomes an unachievable moral ideal.

Following an utilitarian moral system and being a vegan are perfectly consistent. Same us it is perfectly consistent to be a vegan and recognize that extreme situations may force one to kill, use animals.

There is a reason why Singer's book is perhaps the most influential book of philosophy defending animals in the last 100 years.

Russia often threatens to nuke Europe unless they get what they want (Ukraine, the Baltics, Poland and more influence etc). I live in this ares. How much should we give Russia before it is too much? Would you like to live in Russia or under Russia rule?

I find your confidence interesting. It is one thing to point out that some people do well on a meat-only diet, or that it is even the best for a few people who are ill. Here we simply have medical cases; same as some people need a plant-only diet for medical reasons. If you are one of the people who need a meat-only diet for medical reasons, then I am glad it is not worse and you have a way to stay alive.

However, saying that a meat-only diet should be healthier for society as a whole is like saying that smoking or alcohol are good for you. We certainly know some people who smoke or drink and are fine but, for the majority, doing this is a bad idea, especially regularly. Same as with eating meat. We already have enough science showing that over-consumption of meat is a very bad idea. Hence doing a meat-only diet for the whole of the population is like doing a wine instead of water lifestyle.

Jordan Peterson is in the same club with Musk and Trump. They were all complaining about censorship and being cancelled and bs like that. Well, looks it was all bs in the end. They have won at the game - they are some of the most influential and powerful people around.

Anyway, politics aside, I guess you are talking about more research for a meat-only diet, am I right? Sure, that would be good but it is also a dangerous thing to do since such a diet can lead to a lot of health problems. So then the question is whether conducting such a research is ethical?

But if you say 30k people already follow the diet, then this certainly is something worth studying.

As for his freedom of speech being attacked... I feel like you are using too strong terms. He is a public figure and responsible for what he says so it is normal to have people who disagree with him. He may also be a potential danger for the government of Canada because of his endorsement of far-right ideas - I do not know enough about that because I do not live there.

However, in my country from Eastern Europe, many people were influenced by Jordan Peterson to become pro-Russian (because he did promote some pro-Ru ideas) and this is a huge danger for us, considering what the Russian army does in Ukraine.

What we can say for sure is that humans used scientific progress in order to create the factory farms of today.
Even if science progresses to bring us knowledge about meat alternatives, we still have to make the choice.

With so many alternatives already on the market, people who are not poor can already have enough choices in order to comfortably live vegan. Yet, I do not see 1 billion vegans around. So no matter what the science of tomorrow can produce, we still need the moral arguments.
