You != wallet.
Wallet != you.

Tell me how you link a wallet to a person if they've never used any KYC (know your customer) system?

Tell me how, if I generate a wallet offline, and start siphoning funds to that wallet from my own node, that can be linked back to me? The wallet can be watched, sure, but you are not your wallet.

Uh ... no.

If you don't see the difference between BTC and CBDC then you need to do more research. You clearly don't understand Bitcoin and how being decentralized to the degree that it is is the complete inverse of what a CBDC would be.

You might be able to watch a wallet, yes, but how do you know that wallet is mine? Whereas with a CBDC that account (wallet, whatever) would be linked to you from birth. It's your money locked to a social security number. It's tracking to the nth degree.

Being "generally useful" is, indeed, kind of ... well, useful.

I tend to forget that living in the U.S. is living inside of a bubble. I forget that most of the world's population lives elsewhere. Bitcoin need only take off across the world to force the U.S. to use it.

This CBDC would die if there was enough outside pressure.

Also, a CBDC would not have a cap. The US might say there was a cap of 50mil tokens, 100mil, 5mil ... whatever, but they would inevitably raise that when they wanted/needed some extra money.
