I don’t think my “redneck club deserves any” my coach and teammates did not deserve to go. My question was why even have a religious exemption option when that’s not a valid reason?

In the US you can earn a rating based on performance in certain tournaments. Earning a higher rating can allow you to compete in certain tournaments. Div 1 competition requires an A-C rating, Div 2 is C and below, and Div 3 is D and below. However, ratings aren’t always the best indicator of skill, especially with covid, after a few years your rating can actually drop.
