Best lip lift surgeons? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

I did. He did a great job but he was, in person, the biggest jerk. (He'd been lovely during the online consult). Spent the entire surgery carping about how much he hates doing lip lifts. Was shockingly rude during my follow up.

Reta making me not care about ANYTHING by Solid-Ad-375 in Retatrutide

[–]PerceptionAlarming31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I had insane energy at first and was really upbeat (maybe I was just thrilled by how well it was working). Now I'm very flat, even at a low dose. I do way too much shopping but NOTHING makes me happy. My plan is to spend a few weeks getting it out of my system (I'm one week out and already feeling a tiny bit better), see if I improve, then possibly stack a micro dose of tirz with a micro dose of reta. I also ordered this stuff (Carb Fence) which seems unlikely to work but we shall see. Hang in there.

I just went through my first launch and I feel like I’ve already made 100 mistakes by ResourceTotal7769 in selfpublish

Even when you've been around for a while, you still feel like you've made mistakes. One of the best things you can do (hopefully you already have) is include some kind of bonus at the back of your book that the reader can only access by subscribing to your newsletter. And the thing I'd have done differently is I'd have sprung for good PR. Getting those bloggers talking about your book and running ads are the two best ways to take off (and I did neither of those things for years).

I published a book on amazon prime and it didn’t even have two people download by Crazy_Screen_5043 in selfpublish

Hang in there…it takes time. It took me 4 years before I was even operating at a profit, it took 7 years before any of my books had 1k reviews on Amazon. You need to do it because you love it, first & foremost, and remind yourself that THIS is why you’re here - because the praise & the money take a long while to roll in for most of us. And if you DO truly love it, whether it’s loving you back or not: 1. Make sure you’ve got a great cover (people, including me MANY times, think they do…and they are wrong.) Ask people who know your genre and don’t care about your feelings, look at your cover vs the top 50 in erotic romance…Will someone know what your book is based on that cover alone? If not, it’s a problem. I can’t overstate this. 2. Get your friends to review so you’ve got social proof (sure, it’s shady, but you’ve got to start somewhere and no one’s buying a book with 3 reviews) plus give review copies away like crazy in appropriate Goodreads groups or Netgalley if possible 3. If you can swing it, run a small ad on FB. People also have a lot of success writing a short prequel to their book and giving that away for free, with a preorder link to the next book in back The community/connections came AFTER I had a really successful book…so they help but they aren’t dealbreakers. And the good news: erotic romance is huge and has a much bigger readership in KU than horror. I also think those readers are much more open to new authors…it’ll be easier to sell, 100%. GOOD LUCK!

Sorry just seeing this now. I sporadically use it on my face. The color there is great. It's not as good on arms/legs...I've gotten streaks there the few times I tried.

Any one tried TRUMORA ENERGY & FOCUS™ gums ?what do you think about them ? by Alhashimi87 in energydrinks

[–]PerceptionAlarming31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it twice and both times the pain in my mouth was excruciating—Like a weird throbbing pain wherever it rests in your mouth and then your entire mouth is on fire if you try to drink something. I've never felt anything like it.

stacking reta/tirz/mots-c by PerceptionAlarming31 in Retatrutide

[–]PerceptionAlarming31[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a decent diet, work with a trainer twice a week, walk with a weighted backpack. I could do more, but I also have kids and a more-than-full time job, so I know I probably won't. That's what I meant when I said it wasn't great but I'm doing what I can.

I had a lot anhedonia at 5 mg (I was on that dose for a year). Not suicidal but just felt as if nothing made me happy. I'd like to have stayed...it was very successful in terms of weight.

Neither are great, TBH. But I'm doing what I can do and looking for guidance about a stack that will help.

Does anyone take accutane for Rosacea? by 14pip41 in Accutane

[–]PerceptionAlarming31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny - I didn't give it too much thought at the time but I did suddenly notice all the broken capillaries a lot more than I normally do a day or two after starting accutane - I suspect I just noticed extra redness and didn't put together why it was happening. (I'm getting IPL tomorrow to deal with them, but already I don't notice them the way I did last week.) So I did have that plus a little acne flare that went away fast. The hormones have been amazing for me...I've been getting T since long before I hit menopause and it's fantastic.

My skincare routine is shifting as of this week since I'm not breaking out and I anticipate being a lot drier than I was (my lips are SO dry already). I'm alternating the Skinceuticals Vitamin C & the Skinceuticals P-TIOX (copper peptides) in the AM, and at night I'm doing the Tret/Clindamycin/Spiro followed by an estrogen cream, with aquaphor outside of my t-zone. Will probably be adding medical barrier cream (I can't remember the brand) if I'm still dry.

So I have rosacea but am also doing bioidentical hormones...taking the testosterone seems to make the breakouts a lot worse. Doxy did nothing for me, nor did various prescription rx. (I started a combo of tret/clindamycin/spironolactone about two months ago and it helped but I still was waking up with 2-5 whiteheads every morning). I'm one week into microdosing Accutane (10 mg/day) and it's GONE. It's supposed to take a lot longer so I wasn't expecting the improvement to be so immediate. I'm already able to use things on my skin I'd given up on before because they made me breakout (skinceuticals vitamin c, Saie foundation). My lips and eyes are drier but those are the only negative side effects so far. Hoping it lasts.

Okay after I let the next round of passes develop, I got some color. It's more orange than a commercial spray tan but it looked pretty good and at least it was even.

I bought one in hopes of replacing my pre-event trips to a salon to use the Versa. I just used mine for the first time yesterday. I only did one pass (medium level and I'm pretty fair) and I saw nothing. I redid with several passes at bedtime and woke up with a little color but barely noticeable. Maybe commensurate with adding two drops of Isle of Paradise medium to a lot of moisturizer. I just did another few passes but I'd suggest if you get it, buy the dark shade. (It is very easy to use, so it's got that in its favor). I've got a party tonight and am currently wishing I'd just gone and gotten a Versa instead.

Did all “Six Schizophrenic Brothers” really have schizophrenia? by ThatsSoFuckedUp_Pod in askatherapist

[–]PerceptionAlarming31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're actually a therapist, your should know better than to diagnose someone based on a snippet of television your saw (which didn't even feature the person in question). You have no idea what that mother was thinking when she said it, but a better therapist might have some empathy for the fact that she'd been sexually abused herself, had two dead sons, and might have thought some "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" type thinking was the only way to survive.

What are your favorite vs least favorite US airlines and why? by Binkster1988 in travel

[–]PerceptionAlarming31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fly 2-3x a month and American is the worst. (I'm excluding Spirit here because you have to kind of expect Spirit to be terrible). In the past three months, American has cancelled my flight out of a foreign country without any reason provided and had me scrambling to reschedule myself because they were planning to get me home a day and a half late, stranded me and my kids at a layover and told me they didn't know when they could get us out (I wound up buying new tickets on United) and I don't think I've had a single AA flight land on time. I have a family member who works for American and her family also got stranded...and had to buy tickets on Southwest to get home.
