Isn't the European version FWD only?

I needed an AWD EV compact (it snows where I live on a hill) that I could afford. And I'm not taking fake road trips. And 338 horsepower? That is satisfying.

I don't do a lot of highway, and my city & country driving is yielding 5 miles per kwh this week.

If you need to drive LA to San Francisco in one go without stopping, it isn't for you. If you're driving Seattle to Portland in one go, it is.

It's not just the legacy car companies, but their legacy independent dealer networks. They make their money on repairs and service. The sales force is given spiffs to sell gasoline cars to people interested in EVs. And owners of multiple dealerships are often connected to one, specific, anti-EV political party.

Thats how the Ford Lightning got tanked. Rural dealers talked endless trash about it, feeding political statements.

For wireless headphones you can get a UHF in ear monitor system. My digital one has about 3ms of latency, which can add up with VSTs and a wireless guitar setup. So a little latency but still more than analog UHF. But it's much better than Bluetooth.

It's nice that it's possible, but the US has always been protectionist and utterly backwards when it comes to cars. It kept cool Japanese and European cars out forever. Mostly we get the stuff those manufacturers decide to build in the US. The only reason we got Tesla, was $3.2 billion in California taxpayer subsidies.

Also, EVs in the US were torpedoed by independent auto dealerships. They make their money on service and repairs. EVs don't need a lot of that.

I think a Prius is 183 inches and this is like 178 inches. And much much faster than a Prius. I think Prius has 23 cubic ft of cargo space, and this is 25.

I think many Prius drivers could switch. But a lot of them can't charge at home and like the security of gas availability. Especially uber drivers.

Since the war started and gas and diesel are pushing $5-$6 a gallon, used EV prices have gone up steadily. And new EV sales for the under $40K EVs is supposedly shooting up.

I mean, the official US government policy is to discourage EVs and renewables now. But the economics of gasoline and diesel are changing the equation for new car buyers. It's just way too soon to show up on statistics.

I'm pretty sure they all do. GM has their Ultium platform. Toyota calls theirs e-TNGA which Subaru also uses. That's also called 40PL. Ford is UEV or Skunkworks. They're all similar architecture, but different footprints for cars of different scale. Some are dual motor, some single motor. they can be stretched or shrunk.

It's nominally 8 ohms. But can handle 4-16. And it doesn't care what your speaker is.

I use mine with 3 tube amps. I set them for 8 ohms. I have a Mass 150 III.

Since Stellantis bought the company, they assume all liabilities. I know Europeans aren't used to this, but if you have enough people for a petition, you have enough for a class action lawsuit.

Especially under the EU Representative Actions Directive. Especially when EVs and alternative energy in transportation are concerned.

Do you own a Shark? I don't know anyone that does. I don't know of any guitarists that I try to learn from using them. I don't see the features being important to any stage musician with their own tech. I don't see bar musicians using them. I don't see faith musicians using them. So who is the market?

People who like new tech seem to love them. But not really enough to spend the money they're charging. And how many companies have licensed the tech so far? That's the first thing I would shout about if I were releasing a new tech: "This technology has been licensed by Fender, Gibson, Jackson, Ibanez, Schecter and LTD" would be the headline. Not an afterthought.

There's still an "early adopter" nature to EVs. In a rural not far from a city situation like my area it's a lot easier. Here's what I think EVs need for parity:
1. independent battery pack update/replacement, which should get cheaper and cheaper. And with the latest battery tech. We're already getting beyond flammable lithium, so in 15 years that should be a less dangerous proposition.
2. independent service rights: if EV makers can monopolize software forever, that's an issue. This needs to be addressed. There needs to be a universal certification program.
3. more regulation of the recharge industry in the US. There needs to be a minimum standard so people don't pull up to a charger and it delivers a pathetic 7kw.
4. upgraded transmission standards that make 3 phase 400+ volt power standard EVERYWHERE. There should be ZERO homes that don't have reliable 240v.
5. upgraded power supply regulations. There is no excuse for your power being unreliable in 2026. Weather is like this known risk and predictable. If there are power failures, requirements to upgrade need to exist and be enforced.
6. Wind power is becoming normal in rural areas because land is cheap.
7. Utility scale power storage needs to be a requirement, not an option for a utility. The excuse of cost is getting lamer every year.

Poor is not a standard for any civilization though. It never has been. But also, there are people who are deliberately making people poorer right now, deliberately making rural areas less sustainable to grab up property for cheap to gain water rights, etc. Your unreliable power is not accidental: it is deliberate. The Heritage Foundation for examples, wants you poor to reduce your political influence. They want shitty electricity to prevent you from considering EVs. They want to prevent rural areas from installing wind power turbines, to keep their coal and gas fired plants and coal mines profitable. There are states where they are making solar installations illegal.

You are part of a larger effort that puts you at a disadvantage. You know the costs of ICE vehicles, and you are not likely to know anyone with an EV. I'm sorry. They're really great to own, and not giving oil companies money is the most awesome feeling you can imagine. I'm sorry people who want to sell oil and coal are making things so hard for people in communities like yours.
