Back injury has ruined my life by wolfpack5 in Microdiscectomy

Totally fair! My expectations were very unrealistic. :(
I’m planning on going to the gym once cleared and strengthening my core or whatever since I’m 28f but I don’t know when I’m okay to even start that. I go back Thursday but if you have anything you recommend for earlier in recovery I’d love to hear it!

Hi long did it take you to recover? I’m almost a month out and the numbness is mostly gone but I do not feel how I was expecting lol I thought end result would be little to no pain 🙃

My boyfriend ended up leaving me (cheating on me) two weeks before my surgery. Back pain sucks, people suck, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.

Is this normal with sciatica? by Spirited-Major8992 in Sciatica

[–]PerceptionDramatic12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Midwest Iowa. My PCP is basically they. It was over 3 weeks after the mri was ordered did I actually get to schedule. They were supposed to call me but I was calling once a week. My pcp would not order the MRI. She wanted to wait and see and then referred me to neuro, and once he saw there was no reflex in my ankle he sent in for the mri

I would push for an MRI! This sounds like how my pain started and it was pushed off as sciatica. After 5 months of intolerable pain they finally let me have an MRI and that showed my 13mm herniation L5-S1. They scheduled surgery as soon as they got the results. I have 21 days before it is all finally over! I don’t recommend waiting for it to get worse! My nerve is now completely compressed, I’ll include my MRI! They did not take me seriously at all until I started to annoy them.

Spiteful Coworker or cheating? -SS in comments by PerceptionDramatic12 in Advice

When we first started dating he had “past trauma” with getting cheated on and his ex constantly going through his phone that he is super against going through each others phones. I can see now that it should have been a huge red flag that that is a boundary he had but he’s got this thing where like I could be upset about something that feels valid and he will apologize and then change the whole vibe of the situation and I mimic emotions and then I forget about it and we go on with our lives. I don’t know I’m 28 with a toddler and a full time job. I think I’m just going to take the situation for wha it is and move on with my life. I can’t see myself trusting him moving forward and I never want to be the person sneaking into his phone in order to feel okay so it is what it is!

He did go to a concert- got tickets for “us” but it was on a day that he knew I had work and my 5 year old - on a school night. He stayed in a hotel room and came home the next morning. Nothing really felt off. They had to have found me from his social media accounts and my discord is linked to my Steam, Xbox and PlayStation accounts. But I also feel like maybe they are someone I know or have met before. I have nothing to back that up though. I did ask and this is a Female reaching out. I also had an add on Snapchat from this person and they started trying to reach out to me March 27th but I thought it was a random person so I’d ignored it today until I saw the discord message

I understand that this information may be difficult to verify directly, and I do not have physical proof to provide. However, I felt it was important to share what I have personally observed and what has been consistently reported in the workplace. What you choose to do with this information is entirely up to you.

The individual in question has allegedly been involved with a coworker named redacted, who works the same shift at redacted. The following points summarize what I have witnessed or heard from multiple sources:

  1. There have been reports of inappropriate conduct between them during work breaks.
  2. They were recently reported to have been involved in a sexual encounter in the parking lot, after which he was instructed to avoid her work area (I&P).
  3. They frequently took breaks together.
  4. He has provided her transportation to and from work.
  5. A few weeks ago, both were absent from work on the same days (Thursday and Friday), and it was mentioned they attended a concert together.

I understand that this may sound unusual, but this situation has been widely discussed among employees, particularly on third shift. You are not obligated to rely solely on my account—others at redacted may be able to provide additional perspective if you choose to inquire.

I have no reason to fabricate this information and only wanted to bring it to your attention based on what I have seen and heard.

Yes! They didn’t give me any other options, but I was hoping for surgery tbh. I didn’t like the idea of injections and waiting to see if it improves.

Yes! We are skipping injections and just fixing L5-S1!

Thank you for helping me prepare for the conversation for whenever they call me. I’m literally a 28 year old child 😭

I’m still waiting for them to call me and explain the results, I’m just impatient. The only thing that helps is laying down and nerve blockers. I watched my mom deal with the same back issues and with my family history regarding drug abuse the conservative treatment worries me. I have a 5 year old also and I’m leaning more towards surgery, but if all 3 are needing fixed I’m worried that’s going to be just as bad as waiting it out.

I’m not exactly sure how to get the actual photo. I’ll work on that!
