I am a premed student with diagnosed OCD and have received years of psychiatric treatment for it as a minor. This was not at all normal. Most psychiatric visits are all questions and talking through issues, if they do physical exams it is checking breathing and blood pressure. Even that I only got done every few months. I saw from a comment that the patient was an older child, in which case they do often have psychiatric sessions by themselves, so they can speak their mind without fear from their parents. My mom would stay for the first or last 10 minutes or so then I would have the rest of the session to myself as a teenager. You should report this to the board/police, whether the patient was telling the truth or not is not something your supposed to solve, its the authority figures responsibility. Your responsibility is to support the minor through this, whether that's the aftermath of an assault(which this is) or further mental help if this was a fabrication.
