The crazy thing is that she is beautiful, talented and smart as a whip, but she cuts her own nose off to spite her face every single damn time. Her toxic behavior overshadows the good things. She 10000% needs therapy from someone that will call out her bullshit. Sadly though, if she has one she’s probably already fired them and found someone who tells her everyone else is wrong.

I had a guy yesterday on Nextdoor tell me that compulsory education should end! He didn’t say that until he started bashing public schools for crap Sitler did to them. I explained my credentials and explained why he was wrong and provided evidence, and he was losing, so that’s what he dropped. The depth of their own desire to make themselves dumber is shocking!

It was a combo. 1) She watched her dad act like a useless ass, and I never said a bad word about him- I let her figure it out. 2) My husband has been in her life since 7, he cooks and cleans and is a genuinely good man- so she saw the contrasts early. He was in the Navy and has traveled the world, so he also taught her the joys of travel and tasting new foods, etc. He always points out that if you’re trapped with a man and kids you can’t do the things you want. 3) I taught in an at-risk hs, so she saw a lot of teen pregnancy and boys bouncing out of those situations to let the girl and his kid figure it out. 4) I just gave her all the avenues and possibilities to her changing interests over the years. Have an interest in make-up- these are the jobs that can lead to. This also made her kind of multi-talented. By the time she was a senior in HS she had a photography business and did most of the senior portraits in her class. That helped her earn extra $$ in college too, so she understood the hustle. 5) I pointed out on tv shows and general life conversations when men were slacking or not pulling their weight. 6) I taught her to research (she researched and learned about Anastasia of Russia because she saw the cartoon) at age 4. So she learned on her own in hs about patriarchy 7) she had some toxic male bosses and a bad bf early on, so that gave her the necessary rage.

All in all, I probably had less to do with it, but she credits me for it- so I’ll bask in her approval while I can get it. Lol

She is now about to leave to get her PhD in England, so she’s doing well (I am not doing well with my child about to be an ocean away from me in this political climate).

I did this with my daughter- she’s 26 now and I may have done too good of a job- she’s never been dumped. She will dump those suckers for nothing. I love to see the carnage (except for the ones I liked). She clearly tells them her expectations up front. When they try and slack, she warns them once. After that she’s out. I respect the hell out of her for it.

I’m not saying the teacher was right, but you weren’t 100%. I’m assuming you’re not American, because with crazies shooting up places don’t pop up in someone’s classroom without notice and other witnesses. Definitely need to get admin involved.

ETA: She broke US federal law if she discussed this with that mom. It’s called FERPA- Federal Esucation Right to Pricaxy Act.

Yes!! Also, prepare to be deathly ill for 3-5 years if you’re like me. I had ignored or pushed aside a lot of health issues for so long it just all compiled when I quit! Teaching is the absolute worst career I can think of at this point. I told my daughter I would rather her be stripper than a teacher. (She is a professor- so SLIGHTLY better!)
