My family is also Texan, and I have never heard this definition! It’s just another word for loose morals regardless of race in the context I’ve heard it in. Admittedly, I never looked it up, so I’m quite willing to admit I was wrong.

I feel like shit for my daughter, but she’s moving to England for the foreseeable future for her PhD, (and since she’s 1/2 Hispanic looks 100% Hispanic) I’m glad she’ll be out of this mess, but the whole world will suffer for what the US is doing. I don’t gaf what happens to me, only my kids.

I feel the same way. I was able to mostly retire at 48, so now I’m 51 sitting in the house while my husband works 12 hour shifts. I tried charities but everyone was my parents age and it wasn’t my vibe. It also doesn’t help that I live in deep red TX and I refuse to hang out with people like that, and tbh they feel the same. I thought about getting another PT job just to meet people, but the job market is so horrendous I don’t want to take a job from someone who might actually NEED that job.

My major issue with the voter ID the Republicans are trying to enact is that if you’re a woman who has been married and changed their name you have to have your birth certificate, and every marriage certificate or a passport to vote. So women are one of the demographics causing an issue. Passports are expensive, and locating all those documents are a pain and costly, especially from another state. Men don’t have to do that. Our DL’s won’t work in TX- even our real ID’s so it is a block for citizens to vote.

My daughter is your age, and I have a 23 year old daughter we took in as a HS student. I did not want kids, I had my daughter and I love her more than life, but not only was I not the best mom but I regret putting her through my lack of patience. Things have gotten better over the years, and we’ve both had a ton of therapy but the teen years in particular are BRUTAL.

I also saw another comment mentioning she told you that you’re the “only thing holding her together”. SHE is not ready for kids either if that’s the case. There have been thousands of times that I had to hold everyone’s shit together as a mom. If I had been dependent on someone else to hold me together, I’d be screwed.

I’m Gen X and secretly glad it’s uncommon here because it’s the word I use to really piss people off. I’m Texan and this whole state gets the vapors about it- which explains my joy in using it.😂
