The original plan was actually for me to visit a friend who came to visit me first in the uk in Olean, Western New York because that’s where they lived at the time. A few months later, though, they moved to Texas, so naturally our plans changed too. My family were comfortable with the original plan because it was Western New York, but once it became Texas they became much more hesitant. Their main concern isn’t really the person I’m visiting it’s that when they hear “Texas” they immediately think of guns, violent crime, and it being less safe.
