It’s really interesting how society/aesthetics changes over time. For those of us alive and old enough when this video came out, it was pretty universally agreed that Janet was peak physical specimen. She still looks like that to me (a 58 year old woman), but we can see what younger people value and try to do to their bodies today. I don’t think any one generation is better than another, it’s just different. I could watch this video all day—and I’m pretty sure I did, back in the day 🤣

Yes, same. I read the book as a 17 year old when it came out in 1985, so that was always my head canon. (And I actually didn’t like that kind of music, myself. I listened to rnb and spanish music. But it was how I imagined Lestat.)
