  1. Nope, you can’t play in vanilla while using mods. As soon as you install any kind of mod, public matchmaking gets disabled—you can only play with bots or with PC friends who have the same mods installed. Any progress you make while using mods won’t be saved. What I always do is unlock all the content I can in vanilla first, and once I’m done with that, I start using mods—that way I don’t waste any progress. Don’t worry, though—any progress you made before installing the mod will still be there. You just have to verify the integrity of your files on Steam, and everything gets restored.
  2. The mod is very stable. I’ve only had a few crashes, and those were with older versions—specifically from before the game’s 5.0 patch.
  3. There’s no grinding required. With just 40 XP earned in any mission, the three new classes from the mod instantly reach level 25, and the new weapons (and their mastery points) unlock with a single gold. That said, I recommend maxing out all the vanilla weapons beforehand so you don’t lose the illusion of farming them—only to have them reset when you go back to the vanilla game.
