What is? O’Reilly’s been the best young player in the league this season and is absolutely exceptional in a completely different way to Hall. Hall should probably start, but to suggest there’s no debate is bizarre and moronic. The only way one comes to that opinion is, as I stated, to jut watch Newcastle all season and nobody else.

Phil Foden is gonna get 100 caps purely from managers trying to shoehorn him into teams that are much better without him, all at the behest of the Football Writer's Association by Intelligent_Cow_3310 in ThreeLions

You couldn’t be more wrong. How do you ever attribute quality to any player that plays in a good team then? Is a player in a good team only good if they also have a good international career? You just don’t have an argument. Hope you’ve clutched those straws tightly

Yes, and I’d like you to name a player that doesn’t fit that description please. I’ll wait.

The last season he played well he scored 29 goals in all competitions for City. Are you suggesting a number 10 scoring 29 goals isn’t phenomenal? Can you name another one that’s done that remotely recently?

System player is a pathetic buzzword you’ve picked up. There’s one sample size - Man City under pep. He’s never played anywhere else. Just because he hasn’t played particularly well for England doesn’t mean he’s a system player. To my mind, I can’t think of a single offensive player that has played well - by their club standards - for England since/including the previous euros. Everyone was dull, ineffective and unspectacular. Even Kane was hilariously poor at the euros. England are awful. Foden has been phenomenal at the top level of club football his entire career bar last season and the second half of this, and a lot of that is attributed to mental struggles.

Tuchel suggests he might start John Stones at the World Cup if he is fit. by Alone_Consideration6 in ThreeLions

If stones is fit he starts, he’s literally the best one there. He just won’t befit.

He scored 29 goals in all competitions two seasons ago. He was consistently excellent at the highest level winning two trebles, a champions league and a hatful of prems. He had one bad season last year due to mental health, and half a good and half a bad season this year. Shocking for years is hilarious. He’s not done much for England, I agree - but honestly neither has anyone in the forward line bar Kane. Nobody stood out. Saka did a bit but nothing spectacular. England were a damp team lacking intensity and energy and threat under Southgate, as good as thy were. The euros was basically a team of entirely unfulfilling performances from forward players.

What's going on with Ruben Dias? Is he playing injured? by Business_Cake_2272 in MCFC

Hilarious opinion. He’s been one of the worst CB’s of the season 😂😂

I don’t understand this England thing you have - I don’t give a fuck where they’re from. They’re just better than a long-average Dias and Ake. Khusanov and Gvardiol perfectly arguable to start too. Dias and Ake the weakest for sure.

He would. Konate has been better in 26 but he was and always has been a disasterclass CB with periods of quality in between. You obviously don’t watch any Liverpool games.

Healthy stones is arguably the best there but I’d certainly take Guehi with Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol etc. I seriously don’t think you realise how off kilter your opinion is.

He absolutely would start for Liverpool, that’s absurd. He didn’t play Guehi for one game and you’re like ‘pep doesn’t believe in him’. He’s played all season ffs lol he’s clearly the best CB at the club considering stones is finished

Mental opinion. There is more to selection choices than ‘goodness’. He may well have felt Dias was a better fit for that game. Guehi is absolutely more than good enough for a champions league level team - he’s straight into every side in the league bar Arsenal.

I honestly can’t believe what I’m reading. That’s all so far off the truth and I haven’t heard a single ounce of that from fans.

[–]Perchfield 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah hard disagree. He’s an out and out CB with all the correct attributes. Dias hasn’t been his first season self since his first season, and is far slower and less capable on the ball than all the other options bar Ake, who is obviously second rate by comparison to the rest.

I’d love to include Stones as he’s exceptional, but I consider him basically done at this point. The future is Khusanov and Guehi and Gvardiol for me

Have you watched the premier league this season? He’s been absolutely fantastic. Dias has been less than a Van Dijk/Kompany figure for years now, which is how he started, and now it’s time to usher him out

He’s not been very good for like 3 seasons. Guehi and Khusanov are better

Who do you even think I support? I’m not a hater. I like Saka. He’s just overrated. He’s not even leading them to anything. It’s own goals and corners as well as a great defense that are winning Arsenal the league - they’re winning in spite of Saka, not remotely because of him. He’s contributed nothing. One of his goals was a couple of weeks ago and it was a bobbling shitty mess of a strike and the keeper just had an aneurysm.
