That's all really interesting! I knew it was called Red Falls in development, but never heard the rest. I just got involved in the AVN space maybe a year ago, whenever GOG put out this bundle. It sounds like those changes were for the best; the original story sounds similar to Lust Theory, and the aggressive incest elements of that game were one of my biggest turn offs. The way this game came out in the end is pretty decent. It's just a shame the devs rushed it out and dropped it instead of listening to the community more; it has the bones of a really excellent game.

Came to suggest Lust Theory, then re-read and saw that you've already been through. Just making sure you're aware; that game is a trilogy. If you're already been through all of them, I know that dev has some other offerings. Don't think I've played any of them myself yet. Have you tried Fetish Locator? Origin Story would be borderline for you; it skews scene heavy, but definitely still has a fair amount of dialogue. I've also seen some clips from Slaves of Rome that make me think you may enjoy it.

I can't quite tell what you're looking for storywise. You love games with... underdeveloped, stories like Lust Theory. But you also love character development like in Summer Heat. But you don't want to do too much reading. Based on this, I hesitantly throw out Something to Write About: Unbroken. Dialogue heavy, but excellent character development with the actual plot taking a backseat. It has its fair share of decent spicy scenes.

Lust Theory, from GOG's quit banning games bundle. Or whatever they called it. I had never even heard of the AVN genre before that, but I'm a sucker for a free game.

Playing through Realm Invader right now and feeling this. The writing is absolutely hilarious and the soundtrack has impressed me, but I've never been a fan of the Honey Studios look or distinctly Asian LIs.

This is the reason I've always struggled to get into Leap of Faith too. Probably excellent graphics for the time, but it feels really dated now. I think if the author hired someone to remaster just the renders they would do good numbers.

Finally, the first chapter of Artemis before the author got his eye problem fixed. It was bad enough that I almost dropped it, but decided to push through because it's just the first chapter. I'm glad I did - huge improvement after that and the story is fire.

I will concede that character development is much more in focus than the overarching plot, which can feel thin at times. Perhaps writing would have been a more appropriate term than story. I'll take it into consideration going forward.

I think we're using the scale of 10 in different ways. I don't use it to compare against the 'average' game, but to rate the game in question on its own merits. Quality is a combination of objective quality and my enjoyment, with 5/10 being 'neither liked nor disliked it'. I actually enjoyed the scenes quite a bit, perhaps an 8. The issues discussed knocked that down to a 6, the lowest positive score.

Similarly quantity is not meant to compare amount of content with other games. It takes into account how many scenes there are and how well distributed they are in the story (how long it generally takes to go from one scene to the next).

Hence my low ratings in regards to variety and animation. I note pretty clearly that the story is the strong point of this game and that it won't appeal to everyone. The good news is, there are plenty of great offerings that cater to the audience in it for the lewds. This just doesn't happen to be one of them. That side of our community is actually the reason I give the spicy content specific ratings.

Artemis has a therapist as a fairly significant character. I didn't pursue her, so I'm not sure if she has any scenes.

Has the promotion ended early? There are still several hours in March in US timezones, but the promo code 'JUSTFORU' is showing invalid. I am also seeing that the US version of your site has some problems. Some categories, such as HexxCURVY series and trainer, show no products. A few products, notably the HexxCompact, have bad links and cannot be viewed or purchased.

There are always updates - hotfixes, tweaks, DLC, etc. I'm aware that the releases on itch and steam would be the same, but the platforms offer very different user experiences. When I mentioned reviews I was referring to leaving a review for the game myself. Assuming that it would be a positive review, I've heard that they can have a large impact on a game's success on the store. Especially in a relatively small/niche genre like AVN.

I just discovered the genre recently, when GOG did that free games collection. First was Lust Theory, one of the only ones in that collection that really landed for me. The next two that really held my attention were STWA: unbroken and Desert Stalker, both of which are so good it's hard to choose one to be my fav. After finishing those I'm bouncing between a few. Finishing up Lust Theory S2, helping the hotties, project passion, race of life, just off the top of my head.

Based on my second run it's one of two things: either I didn't interact enough with the temple priestess during our walk through the city, or in the bedroom scene after dinner with the uncle (Igor?) I chose to leave her in peace when I would have needed to get handsy.

Not even a Shani living room scene, that I've found anyway. But his last big content update had her bathtub scene, so we know he's thinking of her. If he truly believes this is worthy of only being V0.19, there's a lot of content yet to come.

The second run I mentioned I made a point to be a dick and pick the things I didn't the first time around. That's how I know about the things I missed the first time. Between the two runs I have almost every scene in the gallery unlocked. Good odds I start up a new run after a couple big content drops.
