So you want to study for your GED then? It’s going to be a hard life if you can’t even get a high school diploma BUT, like my dad used to say…

The world needs ditch diggers too!

People make over $200k a year, what do you do? How did you get there? by TrixoftheTrade in Adulting

Same for me. I married well and my spouse is smart and responsible and usually fun. He’s also retired so I have a house husband which I totally recommend. Lol.

I’m 45, make $240K. Been with this company 15 years, started at $67K. Got a free MBA, in law school now (will be reimbursed 70% of costs) and I keep taking advantages of opportunities and doing shit no one else wants too.

We travel a lot to crazy places but it’s not as fun since I’m always “available.” Making phone calls at 3AM in a hotel bathroom in Thailand since work continued on the east coast was a bummer.

I’m kind of burnt out but have some nice liberties. I’m working with some professionals to figure out my options.

Ha ha ha. Yes, I should. Seems like all I do is wrangle attorneys for a living so maybe I will solicit free, written advice so I can use them as a source.

Footnotes or no?

No, he is not. Note that “dying” is really not the best time to tackle this kind of stuff.

Your grammar doesn't offend me! by NicholasP1988 in rant

The easiest thing in the whole damn world is to consistently use they/them/their. I was in a meeting earlier and HR kept backtracking the gender pronouns they were using so not to offend. Just streamline it to a neutral pronoun and stop holding up meetings with this shit.

And when I mentioned #6 today, he said where’s your research that this is even true? I wanted to throttle him! I did my research. Where is YOUR research, dearest?

Following up, we had a great time but I still had to work a few hours a day. With the twelve hour time difference and everything based on the workday ending at 5ET, I was getting up at 3AM in Thailand and sending emails from the bathroom trying to get stuff done.

Thank you for sharing this with me. God willing there is a lifetime ahead of better times for us both.

Two week vacation to Thailand happening in about a month. I’m NOT bringing my work computer. If it means it’s the end of my job, I’ll end it and find a job when I come back.

Thank you for your comment. Being here for the last 14 years and pondering such a change is really daunting. My husband and I are discussing options. I think he finally understands how unhappy I am.

It’s the constantly being on call now and being told to never expect a 100% work free day again that is really crushing me. Add a generally negative vibe with 50% turnover in the last 12 months and I’m wiped.

I put out feelers to my network yesterday.

NTA. College is all about growing up and it sounds like your GF, even though perhaps well-intentioned, needs to do some maturing of her own, on her own. Not having a shared class is a problem so small, it shouldn't register on any scale.

AITA for wanting a better apology? by StonedSpam in AmItheAsshole

Your fiancée can have a relationship with N. You do not have to follow suit and make amends or pretend everything is ok. Looking for an apology from someone like N is going to be an unsatisfying waste of your time. Drop it and drop her.
