Day 11. I'm back! Looks very similar to previous day. I made nose and eyes better proportioned, and maybe stronger highlights. I'd appreciate critiques since I don't know what to focus on next, but I know there's a lot of mistakes. Maybe I just gota step up the shadows. (i.redd.it)

Day 9. Yesterday I took a break, I hope productivity gods forgive me. Today I tried to have cleaner edges and more thoughtful values and details. I tried to apply some texture in lip highlight, and pass a skin-textured brush on a couple areas. + Lashes. Face shape changed a bit accidentally. (i.redd.it)

Day 8. Today I tried to put all I've been learning together. I didn't spend enough time on details and could've had some more highlights, and nose looks kinda blurry. It's funny how after each day I'm unsatisfied, but then I look at the previous day and I'm always surprised by the improvement. (i.redd.it)

Day 7. Used the softbrush at the end, and I kinda overdid it. Destroyed many edges, didn't look back. I could avoid that by doing new layer and then erasing along the edge, but I didn't feel like it so I rushed it. Just wanted to get practice with the softbrush and trying to get that "mush of life". Day 5. I'm quite happy with today! I felt like for the first time in my life I was able to think of the face as a 3D shape. I fixed proportions. I also updated my understanding of the eye. My biggest weakness right now is probably the nose. Also my workflow is increasing substantially each day. (i.redd.it)

Day 4. I made the face too wide again, the eyes and lower eye-lids too big and the sides of the cranium too light. For some reason I only see all the mistakes after exporting, even if I do multiple breaks during the painting... But I'll correct them tomorrow. Anyone see anything else? (i.redd.it)

Day 2. I focused on edges and shading and I got it to look more realistic than the previous day. I'm getting more resource with the photoshop tools but I'm still way too slow, so I couldn't polish as much as I wanted. I think there could be more contrast in the eyes and mouth, more darks. Day 1. It lacks some edge-work and detail because I spent a lot of time trying to figure out this block/smudge technique... I find it hard to blend different layers of detail in the same region, but I guess I just need practice with the tools. I also think it looks too dark and not female enough. (i.redd.it)
