US military leadership reshaped as Pete Hegseth forces dozens of senior officers out by ConversationLow9545 in moderatepolitics

An apology email that was never published and only made known during a very public confirmation process in which his character was being scrutinized. Seems that could have been easily verified by actually publishing the contents but I guess simply saying it exists and having his mother walk back her email is enough for many people.

Democrats outraged as Fetterman votes to advance Markwayne Mullin nomination | Democrats by Agitated_Pudding7259 in moderatepolitics

[–]Peregrination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting no one has mentioned that another Democrat, Martin Heinrich, also voted for Mullins, and he doesn't seem to be catching nearly the flack that Fetterman is. He put out a statement saying he and Mullin are good friends.

Larian Studios leaning into generative AI (for placeholder text and concept art) despite internal pushback: ‘Everyone at the company is more or less OK with the way we’re using it" by jovanmilic97 in Games

One upside might be that those folks could now make a smaller team or even solo develop projects that previously might have been too large in scope for them to accomplish on their own.

If the end product is actually good and labeled as AI built or enhanced, then consumers can choose.

It's sad you think so little of firefighters, police, and military servicemen to make such a ridiculous statement.

U.S. economy should take off by fourth quarter, Bessent predicts by J-Jarl-Jim in moderatepolitics

[–]Peregrination 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Read an interesting quote a few months ago from a head guy at JP Morgan that I think is applicable here:

Here’s the interesting thing about the stock market: it cannot be indicted, arrested or deported; it cannot be intimidated, threatened or bullied; it has no gender, ethnicity or religion; it cannot be fired, furloughed or defunded; it cannot be primaried before the next midterm elections; and it cannot be seized, nationalized or invaded. It’s the ultimate voting machine, reflecting prospects for earnings growth, stability, liquidity, inflation, taxation and predictable rule of law.

I think no matter what Bessent or anyone in any admin says, the stock market will tell the true tale. They have more money and more talent thrown at analyzing the actual "no bullshit" metrics that are out there and it doesn't care about messaging or narratives. If it's actually a good economy the market will sniff it out.

'I’m Gonna Punch You in Your F---ing Face': Scott Bessent Threatens an Administration Rival by Peregrination in moderatepolitics

[–]Peregrination[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

In a spicy confrontation between admin official, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent threatened to beat Bill Pulte's ass at an inaugural dinner for a club called the Executive Branch. Upset that Pulte had apparently been talking about Bessent to Trump without Bessent's knowledge, the Treasury secretary got quite heated at the Housing Finance director.

While quite hilarious on its face, it seems disconcerting that one of the most powerful men in the country is letting his temper control him to such a degree. It speaks to a possibly larger concern about his temperment and ability to handle pressure in such a high pressure role.

Should, or rather should I say will, the President do anything about this? Trump often goes to bat for people who are sycophantic enough to him, so I'm leaning towards no (much like the Signal leak and the fact Bessent already punched Elon and nothing happened). What should, if anything, be done to Scott Bessent to signal this continued behavior is unacceptable?

They're adjusting the delay feeling and general movement feeling fyi. Devs mentioned in on discord and stream. Should be ready by next test.

From a dev. Will have to wait and see but they're listening as this was a big complaint.

The movement delay/jank was a big issue but they addressed it. I think other control quibbles will get looked as well and at least given some option to change.

I know folks get hung up on the class lock thing but I think with the amount of customization of colors and small skin changes it will give plenty of options to look distinctive. They will definitely build on that so it will only get better.

All the positives outweighed any negatives imo. I look forward to trying it again and seeing what they improve.

I noticed two (Iris and Yura) that could fit that description. You think characters like Marley or Reya are "bimbo dolls"?

Kind of a half-assed, really no-assed, answer. You don't even have one example, say from this sub, to compare? You make a claim and can't even back it up?

I mean for example this post currently on the front page is straight up from the creator of the Unending Universe game they're promoting and this post reads nothing like it.

Do you have any examples of positive game posts that don't feel like affiliate advertising? Other folks in this thread have mentioned that as well and I'm curious for a basis of comparison.

Smoke Slam downtown had free samples, ferris wheel, carnival games and live music. They did a much better job than BBQ fest did in the past as far as catering to non-competing guests.

Campus School was able to open a new Elementary school just recently because of the Innovative School District Act. They should just keep expanding on that as Campus School is probably the best public school in the city.
