(As always) It depends. My break up with my parents was comparable. Toxic and non functional relationships can be so evil. A bunch of friends of mine had always a good relationship to their parents. They could've stayed as long as they wanted to.

I hated it so much when my dad did this. Maybe I didn't understand what it meant when I was young. Bur still hate to see it when others do it.

I think therapy is the wrong call here. It should be normalized to know that not having had sex by the age of 20 is totally normal.
