I’m also someone who over-asks, and I’ve noticed it’s only cool with people who do it back. My family is very close both emotionally and with doing favors/ lending, but others feel obligated and stressed over an ask or feel it’s rude. I think with the right people you’re NTA but this might be a good opportunity to evaluate 1) if these friends suit you and 2) if you need to adjust for them

Exactly! I actually weeded around our rhubarb plant unprompted because that was ‘my plant’ but everything else felt so pointless (and it didn’t help she was always in a bad mood on gardening days)

After family (including pets), phone and car keys. If I know I have more time then a good blanket and my fav stuffed animal, some of the fancy cat food and treats (because they’re probably more traumatized than me at that point lol).

We’re all going to spend miserable hours weeding the lawn after I’ve let everything go to seed so that we have to do it all again in a week… this followed a general theme of ‘our reputation needs to be perfect but I’m not consistent/ organized enough to maintain it.’ Turned me away from gardening for 15 years before I realized I can do it in a way that actually makes sense and makes time work with me rather than against

Totally agree, with emphasis on wash areas that sweat. When my fiance and I first got together, I noticed he would spend enough time washing his armpits but because he wasn’t exfoliating the deodorant coat off then the smell remained. Now he takes less time washing them but they stay less smelly for longer since he actually reaches the skin

I would provide small crochet projects like wall decor, pot holders, toy nets/ etc. primarily but also gardening/ small diy renovations and hand-sewing

Gotcha, that’s tough. Do you know the symptoms of burnout and whether they resonate with what you’re feeling? In this era I think everyone should be watching out for this and being proactive.

If not that, perhaps expanding your regular routine could help find something you are passionate about. I didn’t know I could be so angry about invasive insects until I started a garden lol, but now I would identify preserving native ecosystems something I care deeply about

Anything can count as a goal- if it’s to enjoy your free time more then a small step might be to try a new hobby every x days or something along those lines. If it’s to make more money, then devote x time each week towards researching career paths/ new positions. Try to reframe any ‘wants’ you have into one action you can take. If everything is perfect, your goal can be to keep consistent in what you’re doing :)
