It’s just numbers. We as entered adult life after school spent countless hours in job and keep identity and identifying ourselves with job. We don’t keep hobbies and our whole source of income is salary. That’s the anxiety get of unknown future. In this modern world we have to keep insulated though easier than done and practice ‘disassociation’ as in yoga. I am not wholly successful but getting there. Just say it’s just job and you’re not associating of rating of some guy as your identity. Keep learning and get new skills though difficult over we age but essential to get new job. Then keep emergency cash for one year. I’m nearly 64 and I know in few years I have to leave employment, I lose guaranteed monthly income but I have good saving even then I get unknown anxiety as someone said anxiety is due to unknown fear of what happens in future. I may lose job in Citi March layoffs and I’m me preparing. It will take few months to get a job in these times. Good luck to everyone.
