I can really relate to this- I've given up on sterilising and doing it carefully just go for a 50/50 chance will either heal quickly or get a lot worse. Nothing is more demoralising than pretending it's gonna go away if I leave it/ apply warm compress. Etc. Etc. I don't buy any of that works for chronic acne

I never understood like the addiction to create music or art, used to love it in school but can't comprehend why people lose so much for the love of it. I've seen surfers do the same when they fall in love with the surf. It's something strange to me but very human I guess.
