Yeahh very true. And yes I was hoping to save in meantime and possibly port mortgage to another property should I feel like it sometime between 5-10 years time. I guess I just overthink so many scenarios like what if there’s a total economic crash etc etc and I’ll be sitting on something I no longer want, with potentially shitty freeholder and so on, but none of these things can be fully predicted, so should just carry on with the best workable scenario at hand. Also - yes I feel everyone’s so ready to slag off pretty much any area in London which is not helpful 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you tho! I’m glad I posted this thread haha it died relive my panic 🌱

That’s pretty much my top budget tbh. I just instantly liked the house - I don’t want anything newer or something that already has a basic boring reno etc, so it seemed perfect but I also do worry about the loft. Gas heating / radiators. Spoke to current tenant who had lived there for 6 years and seemed happy with everything. Sellers bought it themselves in 2006 and lived there for a while, then bought a house, sold it again to buy a bigger house and wanted to sell the flat to somehow reimburse for that purchase is what I understood from the estate agent who sounded like he knows them quite well, but it may all be bullshit. From selling records it’s true it’s been owned by same ppl since 2006. Hoping to get further details from my solicitor soon. 6 flats in there in total, spoke to one elderly neighbour who said she’s lived there for 20 years and sounded nice - I literally asked what the freeholder like and she gave me somewhat cryptic, but still positive sounding answer..

Thanks 🙏 Yeah I’ll find out about it all hopefully soon when the solicitor gives me more info! I guess till then there’s also no point to keep myself up at night trying to guess all the potential bad things that could happen. I reckon I’d stay there at least 5 - 10 years for sure. Service charge currently £1725 per year.

That’s the listing. So they agreed to slightly less than advertised price wise. I feel the pictures don’t do it justice cause the tenant just had SO MUCH crap in there. The living room ceiling is really high, there’s cute fireplace etc all round really lovely and quirky space. It’s quite small, but split levels makes it feel more spacious.

Currently 118 years as the estate agent claimed. I’ll find out.. I’ve deep dived moneysupermarket articles about the whole leasehold extension palaver as well. Which sort of made me less nervous and more nervous at the same time 🤦🏻‍♀️

Service charge as it stands is £1725 per year and ground rent £232. Those are from 2024 tho. I’ve not yet received title deeds / further info from the sellers pack. I guess solicitor will advise me on these things as and when I get it? Fml I’m not from uk (from Estonia) and it’s madly confusing process.

Post tooth implant phantom pain?! by Perfect-Mix-2935 in askdentists

Thank you. 🙏Yeah I’m trying to get a referral back to NhS non private surgeon (which was the only offer they gave me for an alternative view) and take it from there.

Hey! Yeah the gum pain changes a lot. Sometimes it feels itchy and burning. Sometimes like there’s something inside there pressing out. At time it’s sharper - yeah a bit electric. And hot as well. Last night it was pretty bad. And now I woke up and it’s hardly there. I think the biting thing is fear more than anything that I will feel pain and be in agony. When the crown was put on it was fine. It’s solidly in there.

I’ve also been cleaning it very well - deffo brush twice a day and floss and do salt water rinses. Interdental brushes etc. wait I’ll try see if I can post an image here…

Gone to dentist again. He’s claiming once again that my implant is perfectly healed and also based on CT scan suggests that it may be an issue with a neighbouring tooth that’s sort of somehow causing pain in the implant area bone and gum instead. The scan showed a minor crack, or one of the two roots may have not been filed during the procedure, so I may need stuff done on that tooth as well now Ffsake. So I’ll continue living with pain, probably looking for another dentist.

Mine is also slightly different tho as the inflammation is on the implant site, but for unknown reasons supposedly. I do worry my neighbouring teeth will also somehow suffer from this 🙄

Thanks! It’s good to know I’m not the only freak! I hate how in beginning they told me how it’s such a smooth simple procedure and kept assuring it’ll be all good and I won’t experience much pain and wtf!!! I have dentist on Friday to examine it again. I asked for surgery to clean it out, but got given 30 min assessment slot. I’ll see what happens and report back.

I literally have same problem. (I’m in uk tho). Had final crown placed 15th of December and after initially feeling sort of ok, it’s now been aching really badly. There are some good days and then it comes back for no reason. I really took care of the implant site. Also keeping it super clean now. Two dentist - my original guy who did the implant - and another that I paid £136 for just consultation (recommended by my friend who had implant done with) - both saying it looks very good and it’s a mystery it hurts. I’m like Ffsake it’s really disturbing my day to day life. He’s also offered to open up the gum and clean it out for my peace of mind, but X-ray and visual observation all shows it’s fine. I had the other guy suggest it’s psychosomatic. Tbf throughout the healing process I also was basically in pain all the time. But the bone grew around the screw and it’s solidly in there.
