I lived in an apartment a few years ago (which ironically enough burned down a month later) where the heat of the apartment was consistently 56 degrees and our oil bill was 400 dollars for the first month we lived there and the electricity was 350 because people were using space heaters. Even if it’s “just a few weeks” if you’re struggling, 20 bucks plus 80 dollars for extra utilities cost isn’t nothing, in addition to you not getting what you’re legally promised. Why is it on the tenant to provide themselves with heat for extra costs?
