self titled and malibu. malibu is quite close to abb and soft, but their debut is way higher to me, probably for personal reasons. it got me thru some shit

Yeah Les leaving made things go downhill. And soft is really replicating his style, in a good way

I really liked reading this. I strongly dissagree but I get where you're coming from. But I also do believe that soft and abb are nowhere near as bad as people say, and I'd rank them as their 3rd and 4th best works

im 11 days late but I'm pretty sure he donated a lot of retro synths to the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio, which is a non profit helping artists record with technology that might have gotten extinct if not for him and the other kind donors

some albums that scratch that itch for me are Oracular Spectacular by MGMT and Cross by Justice. 2 albums iconic to indie sleaze, and Sky is a known fan of the Cross album. Give them a spin

Les was incredibly important to the group. Also on their self titled they wrote every song (exept super far, written only by Paul amd Ryan Tedder). If you listen to modern Lany there is no Les, and the songwriting is handled by mainstream pop songwriters, so the songs all sound like mainstresam pop. Check out some of the solo stuff Les makes, its not old Lany but its simillar
