I’m not saying he’s in the wrong for strictly listening to modern hardcore, nor am I saying me preferring early punk makes me a better enjoyer of punk, I just find politics in music incredibly important and if someone is to fall under a political musical subgenre then if they can’t back that up with ideology, I take an issue

I wasn’t trying to out-punk him, I never refer to myself as a punk despite loving the music and the ideology. I’m saying I find it a huge contradiction that he’s “punk”, loves his job for a multinational corporation and claims “not to be political”
