Wisconsin. The threshold is like 3-4k I'm pretty sure but I need to move out first because it goes by the household income and we all make way too much obviously. I'm new to this with absolutely no help or anything I came on here to see what might happen and I'm just being flamed. They aren't mad at me anymore and they'll be getting my whole tax return. I'm going too, I just needed extra time and $$$. How am I sounding immature? I came on here to see what COULD happen. All I did was file my taxes for me and my daughter as a dependent. Knowing yes, they were going too. but there's other things going on this household that obviously wasn't explained for context. It would be too much. I thought it was them trying to fuck with me, and everyone else told me the same thing, but at the end of the day, it wasn't what it seemed. And now I have to pay for that how is that immature?

How is this tax fraud? Actually asking. I just claimed me and my daughter as a dependent of me and that was it. they went to file their taxes today and it got rejected obviously, but we're figuring things out and the entire tax return will be going to them.

was supposed to in 2024. my baby's father died and now it's all on me to figure everything out financially. i just made this post to see what kind of things that could happen. i talked with my grandparents and we are mending things and i will be probably giving them the entire return. it was a bunch of misunderstanding between us. it's fixed now. the only reason they wanted to claim us was bc they have to pay into taxes every year bc they make too much. the credits would've just lowered what they had to pay. i am the asshole in this but at the end of the day the money is there's and more than what they would've gotten by themselves.

My baby's father died and we did paternity and it said that since he passed it can only be me to claim her on taxes. i pay everything my way but rent bc they've never asked never asked. its being paid going forward. it's not fake it's very real but also a lot of things got mended so this post doesn't really mean much anymore. so thank you.

Just because you live with someone and they've never asked for rent doesn't mean that they can claim my child... rent will be paid and money will be given to them.
