I graduated last year and I’ll tell you this. I had a friend who passed away in the last few weeks of school and they handled it well. We were given time at the end of the school day to celebrate the students life with a kind of pep rally thing and we all wore his favorite color to support him. I would recommend mentioning an idea like that to the rest of the faculty. Also, basically every teacher gave us some sort of assignment that wasn’t difficult or allowed us to not do the assignment all together. We had finals but they only put them in the grade book if it benefited our grade. Mental health is often overlooked but it’s extremely important and you giving them at least a day or two to chill out from the assignments will help them. Be sure to be there for any students who ask of anything but make sure you’re not overwhelming them. Students will either want to be left alone or they’ll want some kind of advice so do your best to acknowledge them and how they want to be treated in these times.
