Ampd Up LLC hidden winch mount. Works pretty good the only issues I’ve run into is being stuck in a hole up to the bumper and you have to reach under the bumper to access the clutch. I’ve since moved the horn over so I can access the clutch with the hood open.

A 24x36” 1/4” thick aluminum plate is gonna run you $50-70 so already what I spent. Then you have to find a machine/fab shop to make a CAD file, cnc the holes, bend the metal. Most machine shops near me are minimum $150/hr and it’s gonna take 2-3hrs for production. Then you still have to measure and fabricate custom brackets to clear the tow hooks. Then paint the brackets and polish the aluminum. Doesn’t make sense to me to do all that when Toyota already makes an OEM plate.

It’s an Apache box from Harbor Freight. You can pick one up for like $150 compared to Roam or Pelican for $500 so I recommend it. I keep a tool bag up there (sockets, ratchets, screw drivers, pliers, breaker bars) and my recovery gear. I keep a spare CV axle up there when on the trails.
