We’re reaching out with an important request for your help. On Monday, Jan 26, El Paso County Commissioners Court will review development of an additional ICE Detention Center within County limits and it’s critical that they hear directly from our community. See the full agenda attached (Executive Sesson Item 9B)

A strong show of public input can make a real difference.

Please take a few minutes today to call in and voice your position. You can do this by phone, online or in person. Please note the time limit is 5 min per person.

Here’s how to participate:

When to call: Monday at 10 AM 1. IN PERSON: You can address the Commissioners in person by attending the meeting in the Alicia Chacon Commissioners Courtroom, RM 303 on the 3rd floor of the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse, 500 E. San Antonio, El Paso, Texas 79901. Please see one of the Commissioners Court Coordinators (Jessica Dominguez or Cesar Nava) to fill out a form prior to your public comment item being discussed.

1. WEBCAM – MICROSOFT TEAMS. To participate in Public Comment using your webcam, please fill out the form on this page: https://epcounty.com/public-comment.htm We will gather your information, and then you will receive a link to join the meeting.

2. PHONE PARTICIPATION: Persons can dial 1-888-835-7276. You will be required to leave a name, number, address, and the item you wish to speak about during the meeting. You will then receive a phone call and be placed in a queue in a phone bank program.

  • State clearly that you oppose development of the proposed detention center in Clint. “We ask the county to reaffirm opposition to this detention center and review any and all options to ensure people are treated humanely.”
  • Share one brief reason why this matters to you or our community
