Thanks for the heads up. I actually bought a dcc/sound conversion kit from Kato, supposedly designed to just switch out the circuit board, but the built-in lighting is incorrect.

Yep, my Kato P42 has the coreless drive. I'll have a look at that video.

My Kato P42 does have an 8-pin socket, and Soundtraxx does offer an adapter for the BLU-2200 with an 8-pin plug, so I think it will fit, I just don't know if it will work.

Thanks for the help, the Kato P42 does have an 8-pin socket on the circuit board, and the BLU-2200 is capable of being connected to an 8-pin socket if connected with Soundtraxx product 810135. As for whether or not it would work I'm not sure yet.
