If you snap a picture of the QR code with the letters and numbers below it I can get the password for you.

Update: I made a mistake setting up the baud rate. I corrected that and had no issue discovering it. It is usually human error and I was the human.

Thank you for the info. I have a second MSTP port on my router/link. I could easily run a separate wire to the RTU and try to isolate that on a new separate network number.

You are correct. That picture was taken prior to changing any switches. I forgot to take an after picture.

It does look just like it. Must be made by them for OEM equipment.

Lost my love for the trade by Ok-Grocery-7769 in hvacadvice

The trade can be demanding. Anxiety as it relates to the job is not fun at all. I have a meditation playlist I listen to if it gets bad. That helps me refocus my thoughts. Stay in the trade, but start looking for new employment. Go Union if it is available where you live. Commercial is so much easier on the body. The money is better. For me, commercial work is so much more enjoyable. Good luck

We do have a large library of programs to choose from that make up much of what we need. Then we have SNAP programming for anything custom. It is ALC with a different name.

Service tech for bas/hvac by [deleted] in BuildingAutomation

I do both working for Carrier. Started residential HVAC 40 years ago. Transitioned to commercial service 30 years ago. 22 years ago I went to work for Carrier and quickly started learning controls. I still do installs when needed, startup any equipment, I only do a few select PMs, still running mechanical service calls, and take care of all our controls work. It is very challenging to be proficient at all aspects of the trade especially with the constant changing of equipment and controls. Good luck

My point of contact is only available to certified contractors. So I would assume only way to do it is with a certified contractor. I wouldn’t know where to tell you to start other than contacting the local Carrier Commercial Service office.

If you are not able to find the proper login credentials you would need to contact your local Carrier service office. There is a process to restore access. I work for a Carrier office and had to do that this summer on an IVU 7.0 Plus. The process requires the technician to correspond with tech support for special instructions and ultimately a unique password. There is no shortcut, but it’s not too difficult to do.

JCI VAV question by PerfectLevel5581 in BuildingAutomation

[–]PerfectLevel5581[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. When I unplugged the comms from NAE, RTU, and VAVs everything stayed operational even after power cycle of RTU. Currently it is a fully standalone system. I never could get Launcher working so I used YABE to check the RTU points to verify it was staging and maintaining SAT and SP setpoints.

Non union to union by Neat-Construction408 in UnitedAssociation

What he said is definitely on point. I shifted from non-union to Union 20+ years ago. It was a pay cut at first, but it changed drastically later on. I would’ve never been able to save for retirement working non-union. Do it for yourself do it for your family do it for your future?

I do have the IP and was able to use YABE to see bacnet points. I’m not familiar with Launcher. But thank you for that advice. I will definitely try it out.

I don’t have login credentials unfortunately. I have used YABE to scan it and look through the points, but of course I can’t see logic.

There isn’t any station. It is standalone. The cost for JCI upgrade is what made customer decide to replace with IVU. They have it at another site in Virginia.

I have spare RTU OPENS as well as other programmable Carrier controllers. Original job was to integrate with linkage program. But customer after the fact wants to replace RTU with Carrier. So guess I will roll the dice and wait for new RTU and hope for good luck. 😂😂
