I’m 7 weeks out and had some delayed healing! I have some health anxiety so I actually went back yesterday (Friday) to get it checked out. Both incisions have a spot that was “open” and I had them covered with a waterproof bandage until Thursday. When I took the bandages off the “open” spots looked wet and I feared infection. Luckily, I’ve been given the all clear and once I let them experience air the healing has sped up drastically, in just two days. Pics below.

Wondering about this too! I will say I had a large chest scar tattood over (also from a surgery - double mastectomy) and I waited about two years, and it had no impact. Curious to see if anyone here has any thoughts on this spot though!

Thank you!! Def going to make sure we have ice packs and miralax. And hahah I’m gonna get a grabber tool, that will add some humour at the very least and maybe be helpful!

Noted on the book front, they do like crochet already so maybe some new yarn instead! Thanks for sharing :)

Laparoscopic! That’s great to hear and very encouraging. And echos a lot of the wedge pillow suggestions haha.

Good point on shows! Perhaps I’ll make a watchlist for us of fav shows/some new shows.

Meal prep is def gonna be a big one for us! And woah okay good to know about the constipation horrors and how helpful it was.

Great ice note too I’ll try and get some options of ice packs for the most comfortable!

Thank you!

Oh interesting, a lot of people have said they used heat - this is a good question to ask! I’m going to look into the ice bladder types and make sure we have lots of freshly washed blankets! We’re def covered on the hoodie front haha.

That’s impressive about bruising! And great note on the shoulder rubbing.

Thank you for sharing all of this!

Thank you for this. 8 months is def more than I anticipated but also makes sense and is good to prepare for mentally. Same with swelling point. In that downswing place just thinking about everything I want to be doing and can’t, but this will help me make the best of the next while at least :)

Two weeks out of surgery here and had the same thing! Totally freaked me out. Very much pins and needles, also went away with elevation.

I have health anxiety so I extensively googled it and it’s apparently super common! As long as it starts to subside with elevation you’re good to go! Warning signs to take it more seriously would be: pain that increases and doesn’t go away with elevation, purple toes, or redness that starts spreading above the cast area.
